Isosceles is always a showboat in its youth, but with even a LITTLE age, it becomes a confident -- and consummate -- performer. Paired with chateaubriand. Also -- we left a little bit in the bottle, lightly corked, out in the dining room for five days. And it remained stellar. |

This was a wine that I didn't want to sit and explore each nook and cranny, because I was overly floored by the over all beauty of this wine. This was an incredible example of California Bordeaux blends. I have not been a very big proponent of these wines, and have always thought that it was a stretch to think that California could compete with the Francophiles, but honestly, this was probably one of the 3 best examples of Bordeaux blends I have experienced from California! Reminded me of the 1989 Clerc Milon, but without the sharp edges, amazing stuff! |

Boy was I wrong I’m positive it has several more good years ahead but alas I’ll never know as this was my last 2009. Fabulous nose. Full of fruit still along with tertiary aromas. Blackberry, dark plum, raisins, leather, earthy, Forrest floor. Very smooth tannins, crisp acid. Long enjoyable finish with a blackberry compote flavor lingering. |
