Lively acidity precede mouth coating tannins. Lighter bodied. Red cherry, cranberry start out on the palate with rose petal, smoke and clove following. There is a long, layered and nuisances finish. Exceptional. |

The 4-Barrel is always one of my favorites from every vintage, if not my top pick. This year's 4-Barrel, however, set a new standard. In my opinion, the best KB I've ever had. Not by a long shot (04 Kanzler, 05 Amber Ridge and 07 Koplen are amongst my other favs), but definitively the best. Balanced, lush, long and velvety. We decanted for 2 hours before drinking. |

Tasted the cherry, cola and hint of smoke when first opened but after thirty minutes this wine truly came alive. It really makes ones mouth just explode with happiness when it hits your taste buds. Will give the 2017’s I have another year to see if they can match this one. If you see a 2016 somewhere, buy it!! |
