11/18/2016 - TEDL Likes this wine: 92 pointsAll I can say is wow. A bit aggressive when we opened it but mellowed nicely after decanting for about an hour. Ruby red, great flavor with nice tannins. Surprised us. |

9/10/2009 - TEDL wrote: 91 pointsDue to 'indecision' we had taste off between this wine and a 2003 Joseph Phelps Insignia which we believe is a comparable bottle. Decanted both for an hour and both stood their ground quite well with great colors and flavors. When it came to the meal (Lamb Chops, Haricot Vert, Potatoes Dauphinois) we thought the Semper V was a bit better at cutting thru the fats than the Insignia. Both good bottles and remain our two favorites. |
