5/23/2015 - jimkay21 wrote: 94 pointsDark color, tobacco, leather on the nose. Palate was rich with just a hint of tannin among the mature fruit flavors. Really enjoyable. Drinking fine now and I suspect will hold up for quite some time to come. Light sediment. Best red of the year (so far) |

8/18/2012 - jimkay21 wrote: 93 pointsLike ews3, I decided it was time to taste one. Excuse the enthusiasm but this is quite good. Medium density cherry palate veering to darker fruit as it heads to a long finish. Acidity is crisp and cleansing at the finish. A little tannin as well. Good balance. Nose is faint but that should come with age. They put this wine together in the proper proportions and kept the alcohol at just over 13%. Bravo. |

9/8/2013 - jimkay21 Likes this wine: 93 pointsHeld...ah forgotten...in the cellar since release. Bottle and cork in great shape, just like the relationship by report. Soft 'pop' on opening. Yeast and caramel on the nose. Fine stream of bubbles from the base of the tulip glass. Palate is smooth with no bitterness (not really getting any hop aroma or taste), flavors are a light taste of dinner roll, a touch sweet on the finish. Very enjoyable. Going down great on this warm Asheville evening with the Katydids going in the background. Great to see it held together well these three years |

12/2/2012 - jimkay21 wrote: 92 pointsI was going to rate this at around 90 last night - it has improved significantly after spending 24 hours in a half bottle. Translucent pinot color, acidity that is now in check with a juicy, smooth red fruit profile and medium long finish. Billed as Cameron Hughes' best Pinot to date. Yes it is. |
