Aromas are nice and rich with ripe plums, spices, mushrooms, a meaty element, spices, tobacco. Flavours follow and toss in some dark drying berry fruit (plumminess is primary), cherries, umami, vague chocolate, black olives. This is a soft and round wine, beautifully integrated, medium to full bodied. Nice full juicy dusty mouthfeel. My only negative would be I wish the acidity was a touch more as some fattiness does creep into the overall feel. This wine was way better then I was expecting. Scents of red berries, full body that coats the glass in ruby red colors like oil, and a long well balanced taste of tanins, berries proportionate acidity that lasts forever. It took about 90 minutes for it to really open up and reveal its depth. But oh, what depth. Incredible bouquet, forest floor, balsamic, citrus peel, fresh leather. Beautifulnose of leather, forest floor, balsamic and tart rasberry. Balanced and refined in the mouth, with a touch of vanilla, sweet dark cherry, coffee and caramel. Long, long finish. Ridiculous. Profound. Tight and defined. Nuts and sweet spice and plums and prunes and treacle and utter beauty. "Particular scent of honeycomb" says a friend. "Thumbs up!" says another. I like the salinity alongside the caramel sensations. What a wine. So good. Chocolate and cocoa. Powerful but graceful. Assertive but demure. Serious but playful. Big but humble. Their are so many layers to this rich wine that has yet to unfold. Loads of ripped wild berry fruit. Balanced and great structure. Generous tannins that gently coats the mouth. Magnifique !! Nez ouvert d'épices à ketchup, légumes cuits, sucre d'orge, boite à tabac et un soupçon de cèdre...très complexe. Sensation d'umami avec ses tannins mûrs.
