The wine is dry, developed and complex on the palate with medium-to-moderately full body and quite tertiary flavors of ripe red berries, savory smoke, some sous-bois, a little bit of damp leaves, light roasted spice tones and a hint of sour cherry bitterness. The structure relies mostly on the acidity, because even though the powdery tannins feel ample, they are fully resolved and contribute mainly to the texture, not to the structure. The finish is spicy, pretty acid-driven and slightly grippy with long flavors of sour cherries, some ripe dark berries, a little bit of smoke, light earthy tones and a hint of pipe tobacco. |

Viel Kräuterwürze im Duft, auch schon mit leichter Reifeoxidation, Pralinen. Riecht trotz fortgeschrittener Reife nicht verkehrt. Ausgewogen, trotz Tanninrest ein weicher Barbaresco, hat Finesse, kein Kraftprotz, aber mit guter Länge und er macht mir wirklich Vergnügen. Bald trinken. |

Dried red cherries, raisins, tar, leather and licorice. Nose was shy at first but came out to play after an hour. Slightly hot going down, but not overly so. Some chewy tannin appeared in the 2nd glass, but settled down by the next. Lingering, consistent finish. Absolutely what one would like with a Barbaresco, very nice indeed. |
