5/24/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 92 pointsNose: Earthy blackberries, gravelly clay. Palate: Mildly tart blackberries, fleshy sweet red plum with no bitterness; polished tannins that have nice weight to them. Some of that weight may come from the ethanol warmth (14.5%) that lingers on the finish with some oaky prickle. On day two, plum pie and swet cream on the nose. Palate was definitely softer with muted raspberry and vanilla cream, dark cocoa. Not sure it's any better than day one...just different (softer and more complex). Either way, it's got a long life ahead of it. |

5/19/2024 - stamperb Does not like this wine: 75 pointsNose: Mild and nondescript. Palate: Lots of bacon fat and campfire smoke, very meaty, oxidized cherry, raisin; green tannins. Definitely not my thing, but could be great for someone else. |

5/19/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 90 pointsNose: Dark cherries, dark plums, honeysuckle, nice kiss of volatile acidity. Palate: A bit thin with sharp tart raspberries, sandy tannins, anise, and creamy metal. On day two, this wine had a total transformation. VA on the nose blew off to reveal pink cotton candy. Palate had a nice vanilla cedar, sweet flower streak along with graphite and minimal fruit, sandy tannins held strong. I would've given this around an 87-88 on day one, but on day two was more of a 90-91. My advice (for what it's worth) would be to hold or decant for a while at this stage in its life. |

5/16/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 90 pointsNose: Ripe plum, red raspberry jam, sweet oak char. Palate: Crunchy tart red berries; polished tannins; initially there's a notable layer of oak that spreads out evenly over the mouth, which does mellow with additional time in the glass. On day two, the oak and other flavors are more integrated, and the wine takes on a warming (almost prickly) kirsch liqueur character. |

5/13/2024 - stamperb wrote: 83 pointsNose: Mild, some peach; Palate: Lean and steely almost metallic; dry cantaloupe, light bitterness on the finish. Overall, soft on the palate with rocky metals dominating over mild melon fruit coupled with a nondescript pithiness. |

5/13/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 93 pointsNose: Blackberry and cassis, candied wildflowers. Palate: Noticeable oak that morphs to cedar with more time in the glass, ripe blackberries and thick dark cassis, blackberry liqueur without the alcohol flavor; plush tannins. A very well-structured wine that nicely straddles the line between Bordeaux and Napa, maybe a touch too much wood for me at this stage, but I'm nitpicking...it's very good. |

5/3/2024 - stamperb wrote: 84 pointsNose: Lots of guava mixed with peach, quite topical. Palate: lemon lime; overly tart and leaves a puckering twang on the finish; letting it settle a bit allows some grapefruit to peek through (60% Colombard, 15% Ugni Blanc, 25% Sauvignon Blanc). |

5/3/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 93 pointsNose: Spring flowers, dark-fruited molasses, dried blood, iron-rich dirt. Palate: Aged cassis, thick blueberry skin, parchment from an old library, chalky earth, faded cedar, candied cherry on the finish. Interestingly, this was incredible right out of the bottle, but hours later (and the next day) the iron-rich minerality and mellowing fruit weren't as harmonious. |

5/3/2024 - stamperb Does not like this wine: 86 pointsNose: Plums, oaky anise, flowery garrigue. Palate: Gamey dark stewed plums, soft black pepper, mild oxidation, supple and soft tannins coupled, gentle acid; smooth and easy drinking, but does lack personality outside of its one-note soft spiced plum streak. |

5/3/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 91 pointsNose: Plums, what I would imaging frankincense smelling like. Palate: Mild cassis and gently spiced plum; old dried leather, gum-coating tannins give it some presence but overall, a very mellow wine. |

4/28/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 88 pointsNose: Cassis, dusting of cocoa. Palate: Tart sour red cherry, slight tangyness, red currant, tannins coat the gums yet feel dissonant against the lighter medium overall body of the wine. Nice sweet cherry on the finish. Given more time to open up, the tangyness is replaced with smokey cranberry. Definitely an affordable bottle for the region ($20), but its flavor simplicity and lack concentration makes it feel like your'e getting what you pay for and nothing more. |

4/15/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 93 pointsNose: Stemmy blueberries, alcohol-soaked spiced plums, violets. Palate: Ripe dark cherry, ripe cranberries; hot and grainy tannins. This has a long life ahead of it, and while the ABV is noticeable (14.9%) and higher than I typically like, it's integrated enough and I really enjoyed this wine. |

4/15/2024 - stamperb Likes this wine: 91 pointsNose: Raspberries, sweet vanilla. Palate: Tart raspberry, red current, dried cranberry; sandy tannins; overall, very restrained and elegant. On day two, the nose takes on more red-fruited chocolate notes, while the red fruits on the palate gain an aged, somewhat more tangy edge. |

4/15/2024 - stamperb wrote: 87 pointsNose of earthy feet, lemon flowers, some sulfur. Palate: Thick mouthfeel, dirt and oak, lemon zest. I didn't get any of the apricot from when I had this back in October as this bottle had a much heavier and oakier weight to it then I remember. |

4/8/2024 - stamperb wrote: 87 pointsNose: Raspberry. Palate: Tart cran-raspberry juice, cassis, chalky tannins, sweet cherry on the finish. I found this to be much more balanced than the 2016 vintage, which had a sharper acid edge, and much tarter fruit; and while pretty linear, the components of the 2018 were much more in balance. |

4/8/2024 - stamperb wrote: 86 pointsNose: Cassis, chalky earth. Palate: tart raspberry, sour pomegranate, tangy, soft tannins coupled with high acidity. Was somewhat better on day two with the tanginess subsiding a bit; however, the structure is a bit off-balanced to me. |
