Gentle red apples and a touch of honey flavors show themselves, and grow in intensity toward the finish. The honey and apples are well integrated on the mid palate, but the transition to the dry finish isn't integrated as well yet. |

I'd hoped to hold this a but longer but considering how well it showed, I can't fault myself for being impatient. Apple, pear and peach along with floral spices and minerals on the nose. Spice component has grown more noticeable with time. Medium bodied with a similar flavor profile to my prior bottles as well: apple and pear upfront, then white peach with a touch of brighter acidity and soft, yet green melon. Tropical notes still show up as backside "hints" while the interplay between the peach and melon is what really makes the mid-body interesting. Showing quite well at present and while it certainly has many years in front of it for most, I'm glad I could enjoy my final bottle with and acidity and fruit balance in such a great spot. |

Acidity enhanced citrus (lime, grapefruit, tart orange) on the back along with plenty of minerals. In two years, it has taken a baby step forward, but under screwcap, this wine is going to be quite long-lived. I find it interesting now, but with the acidity and honey concealing so much, I have to wonder what it might show in 2025 or 2030? I don't expect it will turn into anything mind-blowing, but it's a high quality wine with lots more to show. |

An incredible amount of richness and density on the mid-palette; layer after layer. Sweetness comes in only on the finish and is balanced outstandingly by the acidity. This wine has both great depth and great length, not to mention wonderful balance. This wine really is going to last for 20 years. |

Served at 48F, warming to 52 and showed it's best around 52. Strong minerals and orchard fruit notes on the nose. Medium bodied with outstanding density and richness and a steely backbone of acidity that does an excellent job balancing the fruit. Varied orchard fruits upfront, adding some orange and lite tropical hints in the background and finishing with strong citrus qualities blending into the acidity. Finishes long with minerals and acidity. I love where this wine is right now; great roundness and richness, without being overly sweet, a spectrum of fruit flavors that evolves and blends and shows every sign of only gaining in complexity in the coming years and the wonderful acidity providing balance through the middle, length on the finish and overall structure. While I expect this wine will continue to improve (based on where the fruit and acidity are today compared to 17 months ago, this wine has many years left), it's certainly worth trying a bottle now as well. |

2/8/2017 - RGCM Gananda Likes this wine: 93 pointsPrior bottle was almost eight months ago and this wine continues to impress. Opened at 50F, warming to 53F and showed quite well in that range. Retains the orchard fruit and mineral nose. Medium bodied with peach, apple, pear and melon upfront, adding softer, deeper tropical fruit in the back before finishing with the more tart citrus notes of lime, tart orange and grapefruit. There's a nice streak of richness through the middle and excellent acidity throughout. The acidity still has that racy quality to it that I so enjoy for contrast in young rieslings. Mineral and floral notes on the finish. As compared to the prior bottle, there might be ever so slightly more mid-body complexity and ever so slightly less acidity as this wine slowly softens. I expect it should continue to drink well for many years to come. |
