Open-knit grapey tannins, lots of liquorice and chocolate fruit; really sweet, almost jammy black fruit, medium/full-bodied, but not in an intimidating way; rather it's bit and friendly and cuddle, sort-of like an obese uncle. Certainly smells sweet, but the finish is dry enough; there's isn't really the huge weight to this that you might expect. A bit of a Wizard-of-Oz wine, all front and not so scary once you've dealt with it. Don't think this is for aging, whatever the pretentions of the Three Bridges label... |
