This Cab franc reminds me of a good quality generic burgundy. The nose was primarly strawberry, cherry and a touch of wood and sous bois. The palate mirror the nose. Nose: Lovely aromas of red berries, ash, smoke and pepper. Classical !!! Palate: At first very lean and buttery. But then the wine opens up with Jammy redberries, smoke, pepper, ash. I also felt a floral aspect to the wine probably violet. The wine gained power after 30 mins in the glass. It changed to a medium bodied peppery classical Croze-hermitage. Round tannins and good acidity to support the structure. The finish is medium length, dusty and peppery. This is a lovely wine. It is for short term consumption but great as it is. The wines also develop some mineral aroma. Delicate and simpple The palate does not totally reflects the nose but carries the same fruits profile. The palate develops some floral aspects as well as a acidic minerality in the mid palate. The tannins are delicate and flows through the final. Not a bad wine but very simple. Colour: Very dark almost opaque purple Nose: Great ! Powerful aromas of liquorice, pencil lead, graphite, black fruits and smoke. Palate: Full bodied and refreshing acidity. The palate shows liquorice, black fruits mostly plum, wet earth, graphite, pencil leal, smoky oak, and a certain animal taste (beef blood perhaps). This right bank bordeaux got better and better as time passed. The last glass was much better that the first. This has all the potential to improve. Drank this wine in a Sassicaia VS Orneillaia flight Color : Dark Ruby Nose: Funky ocean breeze(roussillon style) lighlty comes out as a perfum but we only noted that perfum in the wine for the first half hour after starting to taste the wine. Then, we noted sweet plum, rapberry, lavender, white chocolate and liquorice. Palate: Complex mix of plum, raspberry, white chocolate, oaky vanilla, liquorice and provencal lavender. NO tannins and short cliff finish. Altough I would consider this a well made wine it is too light.
