There's a lot going on but nothing sticks out. Good acidity on the palate with more lemon notes, orange, citrus zest, and quite a bit of dry extract on the palate. Long finish. Harmonious and attractively aromatic nose with aromas of fresh pears, some passion fruit, light aromatic herb notes, some grassy greenness and a slightly sweet hint of tropical fruit lingering in the background. On the palate the wine is very intense and extremely powerful, almost aggressively so, with dry but generous, quite green flavors of nettles, cut grass and aromatic herbs, with some restrained but ripe exotic fruit character that serves as a counterpoint to the sharp, green notes. Overall this is very complex, concentrated and powerful for a Sauvignon Blanc; the wine isn't that big, however, but instead more or less medium-bodied. The finish is quite long and a bit warm (alc. 14%) with aromatic, intense flavors of herbal greenness, citrus fruits, some nettles and a hint of steely minerality. This is a very impressive, complex and concentrated premium-level Sauvignon Blanc, but not one that feels excessively overripe, super-expressive (like some NZ SBs) or one where the richness comes from oak. No, this is a very intense and powerful wine, but also one with good restraint, sophistication and typicity. At 35,90€ this is expensive for a Sauvignon Blanc, but is also so impressive for such that the wine is actually good value for the price. Although I'm no fan of Sauvignon Blanc, I'm thoroughly impressed by this. I wouldn't be surprised if the wine was drinking easily even after a decade from now. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Ripe yellow apple fruit with acacia honey and a little touch of oak. Wonderfully soft, velvety, almost oily mouthfeel with some extract sweetness. Nase nach Gras und Paprika, sehr würzig. Auch am Gaumen druckvoll, würzig, nicht sehr "südsteirisch fruchtig", aber erfrischend, würzig, dicht & herb... anders toll! Wunderbares Säurespiel und mineralisches Finale. Ripe and complex on the palate, licorice, some spiciness, mirabelle plum, body of a white Burgundy but with different fruit, acidity and structure are very good.
