Bonarda doesn't make big wines, but this shouldn't deter you from trying this varietal. This wine is very fruity, with cherry flavors prominent. Good mouthfeel, surprising depth, smooth, easy-drinking. Hard to believe this contains 13.9% alcohol, not a trace of hotness. Good finish. Very good value, would pair well with fowl or light meat dishes, also nice for drinking on its own. Give it a bit of time to come together after opening. Don't expect a big, chewy Malbec; this is a different animal. The more I tasted, the more I liked it. Isn't a keeper, though. I enjoyed this wine with venison steaks, marinated in the wine, and then cooking the marinade into an onion chipotle sauce. The next night, I finished the bottle with hamburgers. |

No complaints from this bottle at all, and I know I am an Argentine Malbec fan, but I didn't get the chance to write down any notes. Regardless, I remember it didn't have any major character flaws, and I enjoyed the bottle. I have one more, and look forward to drinking it, perhaps alone next time! |
