This wine belies it's humble Cotes du Rhone Villages designation.

Very layered and complex. Smooth yet lively on the palate, with a long finish, great balance and fully resolved tannins. Bravo!

Dark purple and dense in glass
Nose day 1: Prunes, almost nothing else giving a very fla expression.
Mouth day 1: All about the prunes, rather flat.
Nose day 2: Prunes, again. But showing signs of meat, dried spices and crushed red berries. Improvement and maybe the Syrah showing.
Mouth day 2: Consistant with nose.

Assessment day 1: Flat, one D wine: 81 pts.
Assessment day 2: A bit more structure and more dimensions significantly better than day 1: 87

The nose is sweet and a bit oaky with pronounced cherry aromas. Palate has big juicy raspberry, red cherry and cranberry with some peaty spiciness on the finish. Nice acidity, soft tannins.

Pop and pour. Well balanced, slight fresh flower and funky minerality with good concentration of blue fruit and a bit of pucker. Nice suprise. Ready now but no rush, pushed my drink by day out to 2020

Maybe it needed more time? Just opened another bottle and it is vibrant black cherry. Still a bit juicier than I prefer but fine for a cheap & cheerful

Nice easy drinking Rhone blend. Red fruit at the start with a smooth finish with soft, round tannins. I expect this will age for several more years and develop a bit further.

Nice little Southern Rhone, drinks very well for the price, solid everyday drinker. Dark color with a nice nose with some light fruit on the palate as well.

At this point, this needs at least an hour and a half out of the bottle in the decanter to start to come together. First trying it a half hour in it was a gangly bright acidic mess. It came together once it had a little more time, but it's not ready yet.

Needs about 1-2 hours of air but then very nice. Tannins still a bit firm. Good black fruit with some flinty and earthy notes.

Berry Brothers and Rudd Walkaround Tasting (London): Quite dark in the glass.
Pronounced nose with layers of forrest fruit and black currant.
Earthy on the palate. Mid to Full bodied, but slightly alcoholic. 15+ seconds after taste. Good fruit. Not very acidic.

Plum and raspberry mixed with spice, pepper, chalky mineral and a meaty character. The fruit carries over nicely onto the palate and straight into the finish were gets a nice blast of pepper. (Best 2012-2018)
