Dark stewed cherries on the nose. Delightful primary mouthfeel - a luciousness to it. Super extracted, borderline syrupy. Soft tannins. While the entry is enjoyable, it is super hot and lacks finish.

Chile’s version of an Orin Swift wine? If the alcohol mellows out in the bottle over time it may be worth revisiting, but at $72 (in Canada) not sure it’s worth it.

The wine looks Violet colored. The legs are Fast. It smells like Cherry, Melon, and Orange Blossom. The flavour is smooth and fresh, without tannin apparent. The body is Light. The wine has Juicy texture. The wine finishes Short.

Bottle 1291g. Lighter than it looks. Moderately intense aromas: sharp, lifted, red fruit, tomato, smoke, minty (whole cluster?). Dry, with moderate acidity, moderate, somewhat bitter tannins, full-bodied, 14.5°. Red and black fruit on the palate, savory, saline finish.

Nice light wine with some fruit notes, light colored, easy drinking. No heavy alcohol or tannins, under $20 CDN.

Really decent stuff, some slight reduction shows and more r.s. than I prefer. Mostly driven by dark fruit flavors, with a medium nose and finish. Not as expressive as the carmenere, and a bit more jammy.

This is better than my last bottle, I attribute that to bottle shock, probably tried the other one too close to shipping date. Grapey but good, this is unique but interesting. Solid new world style with old world influences.
I’ll be interested to see how this evolves over the next

I agree with Vesiuviis’ note below. I would rate this a bit higher as a cab…which is how it drank. Only hint of Syrah I got was pepper on the finish…everything else felt “Cab”

Grocery store grab, but you can't win if you don't play! Decanted through the aerator into the glass for 45 minutes, finished the bottle over a couple hours. In the glass: Inky garnet, slow thin legs. On the nose: Spice, minerals, dark fruit, whiff of tobacco. In the mouth: Med. mouth feel, good concentration of the nose, very light tannins, some heat pokes through and a bit of bitter on the decent finish. Atypical for cab, a bit more fruit but not bad at all. Can't beat the QPR at $8.

Meh. It’s got decent complexity, and the taste is ok. But I can’t get over the nose - too vegetal. Not like pure bell pepper vegetal, but like just not ripe enough Carmenere & Cab Franc.

Shame, as I like some of their other wines under the escudo rojo label… but for the price, I’ll take the Almaviva Epu over this.

Hour decant, the nose on this is quite green leaning, which is slightly out of sync with the palate which is fairly fruit forward and well balanced. Smooth drinking, this is medium bodied with a medium length finish.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carménère and Syrah. Tasted blind in VV.

Quite opaque blackish-red color. Somewhat smoky and slightly aged nose with a bit of reductive skunky character along with rather stuffy aromas of ripe and slightly wizened dark fruits lacking freshness, a little bit of earthiness and a hint of musty old wood. The wine is full-bodied and quite reductive on the palate with some skunky character and a little bit of gunpowder smoke along with pretty juicy flavors of ripe dark berries, some toasty oak spice, a little bit of pruney fruit and a hint of developed earthy character. The wine is lacking in structure, thanks to the quite mellow medium acidity and very gentle and easy tannins. The finish is rather soft and somewhat dull with flavors of wizened dark fruits, some skunky character and a little bit of earthiness.

Most likely this wine has never been a particularly balanced effort, based on its noticeably soft and dull structure, but now the wine seems to be performing even lousier. The overall impression is very dull, somewhat skunky and too flabby with the fruit lacking life and energy and reductive problems making the wine feel at times even somewhat unpleasant. Waste of money at 15,40€.

Inky coloured with medium legs. Nose: licorice, cherry, slightly meaty like the maillard sear of a steak, black pepper, baked green bell pepper, a little stewed tomato. A hint of tea and twigs. Palate: Vanilla, nutmeg, cherry, very jammy and still fairly tannic. A little hot on the finish.
