Coravined with the aerator tip on, + 45 minutes in the glass before drinking.
Wow. Very young, but already showing wow-factor nose of moderate funk with spiced fruit (blueberry, black raspberry) and dried violets. The nose might be the best part! Just like a great Côte Rôtie should!
Tastes like dried black raspberry, blueberry, black cherry for fruit, with black pepper, light antipasto meat, sous bois, and a lovely dried violet as well.
Still needs a couple years to fully express what’s underneath, but boy is this impressive now! Save it for 2026 to 2036, and get the full breath of what this wine can offer on the nose & palate.

Solid Syrah from Yakima. Not overly complex, but just enough to keep it interesting. Great fruit! Mild earthy notes on the nose and palate. Definitely not a pepper and bacon fat bomb. Very expressive, balancing elegance and power very well.
Hard to beat at 45-50 bucks!

Great valley floor Cabernet from a world-class vineyard. Complex and finessed once the wine got some air.
Blackberry, cassis, spice, tobacco, violet, light mature herbs and light earth. Powerful oakville fruit with a more finessed approach. Well done!
