Brought to Uncle Pete's place back in Singaore after having a taste at the cellar door. Not bad, with nice subtle pear and apricot tones and very nice balance with good acid an a fresh finish. I thought this was a very decent wine, just lacking in a bit of richness and character.

Dark vibrant red.Lifted bouquet, dark berry fruit, fresher strawberry notes, tobacco, humus, mushroom, hint of smokeyness.Soft and silky, fine tannin structure holds it all together well.Layers of complexity develop in glass.

Sealed in cork. A bright straw colour. Nose reminiscent of citrus fruit and summer flowers. Granny Smith apples, kaffir lime leaves, lime sherbet with hints of tangerine and minerals on the finish. Good breadth and weight across the palate before a lovely core of acidity kicks in. It was served a tad warm but it still shone through. Most yummy. Will cellar. 4-6 years.

Lots of heat and not much fruit. Either a bad bottle or way over the hill. Previous bottles were better. For the price - won't buy again.

Nice minerally nose. Red fruits with a little smoke. Palate did not live up to expectations.

Still a very dark purple in colour. There's just a hint of age on the rim, but not much. The nose is peppery and floral (violets) with some restrained dark fruit in there. Noticeable legs on the glass. With some air the sweeter fruit starts to emerge.
The peppery blackberry fruit continues on the palate and there's quite a degree of austerity to the wine, with some herbal notes as well. Tannins are still strong for an 8 year old wine from NZ. The acidity is firm and the noticeably dry finish is a little austere but not unpleasant and it has a reasonable (and subtle) carry to it.

Quite where this is going I'm not sure. Those tannins could last quite a while and the fruit is still quite primary and is not about to fall over, but which will give way first, or will it be a 0-0 draw to it's conclusion?

I can see why Malbec makes a good blender! I've enjoyed this bottle, even despite it being very unresolved. I can see how this would be making more of a statement in a blend though.

Medium garnet core, medium pale garnet/mahogany rim.
Medium intense red cherry fruit, quite developed with fair amount of spice.
A medium + bodied wine with low/medium soft tannins and reasonably concentrated red and darker cherry with vanilla and spice on the mid-palate and a long, fruity finish with reasonable balancing acidity.
Enjoyable pinot, attractively flavoured and reasonably intense if lacking a little complexity and charm.

This is not looking good. Had initial high hopes for this but with cellaring now seems more unbalanced.

2 years ago this was closed & little has changed in that time. It's certainly a good wine, but it's progressing much slower than expected. Open the last one in 2008-2011

Medium/deep cherry red core with narrow light rim.
Medium + intense aroma with black cherry to the fore, some hints of violets.
On the palate this has medium + acidity and medium soft tannins. A medium + bodied wine with good depth of black cherry fruit and a good length finish.
Nice, if not overly complex.

Medium garnet core, light cherry rim. Light/medium intense raspberry and red cherry on the nose, hints of vanilla. On the palate, medium + acidity low, soft tannins and moderately intense red cherry fruit, with hints of spice and a slightly savoury medium length finish, with alcohol a little intrusive. Pleasant enough wine, lacks a little depth and balance.

Fearrington Dinner (Fearrington House Inn Restaurant): Light yellow in the glass this had a very nice nose of fresh peaches and a ton of acidity on the medium bodied palate. Not the most complex or deep wine but very enjoyable. 50+13+11+7+7 = 88
