A high end of this estate made from the best section of the vineyard, which often means the part that most regularly gets concentrated by botrytis. Pretty translucent gold color. Nose dominated by dried but brightly flavored fruits of apricot, raisin, and orange. Comes into the mouth broad, softly textured, and delicious, with ample acidity that keeps the wine tasting fresher and brighter. The swallow coats the mouth and lingers long in the throat. The low 9.5% alcohol makes it easy to just keep swigging down this wonderfully rich wine.

Wish I had more! Well rounded balance of acid and non unctuous sweetness. Wonderful viscosity. Apricots, pears, and a touch of mandarin orange. Finish that goes on forever. Great with a cheese course the first night and even better the next evening with Asian cuisine. Plenty of life left. Secondary phase and will remain for another decade, at least.

Well balanced, first night just opened so still needs to transition and open up. See how this develops.
*7th night, hints of mint, strawberries and German Riesling typical notes. Very good solid bottle.
As wine get warmer with ambient room temp notes of tropical fruits and pine.

Duft knapp mittlerer Intensität, zitrisch und mineralisch. Im Mund gutes aber nicht extremes Volumen, intensiva Süsse und sehr knackige Säure, Quitte und im langen Ausklang eine pampelmusig bittere Note. Enorme Struktur und bei aller Konzentration nicht ermüdend. Sicher in ein paar Jahren noch besser. Ex-Icono, offen. (92/100)

This was open in the fridge for 3-4 months. Still great concentration, nice acidity and, of course, very sweet.

Not everyday wine, but great with cheese or spicy Asian.

Had this last week, so I can’t remember much about this one. I enjoyed it, it was a light, fairly dry styled kabinett with citrus and stone fruit flavours that should last a while (B+).

Medium full gold color; dried apricot, honey and lychee, figs; fairly ripe and more of an Auslese-like weight to it; slightly sweeter than my preferred “salty vs. sweet” tension for German Riesling. After a shot bottle last time (a couple years ago), these need drinking up soon. 92+

Drank really well. Slight balanced Riesling “petrol” over pear and apple, with a long finish. A bit light on acid. But really delivered a lot.

This bottle was singing. Not sure if the longevity on these was to be this glorious on the long term, but this one was singing. Brilliant sunflower yellow color. Loquat, mint, lemon rind, pineapple on the nose. Carrying flavors on the medium minus palate. Beautiful balanced fruit with acid and a snappy sweetness Focused. Good length. This wine is drinking well over its price point. Very fine. Enjoyed with Jagerschnitzel & Pilzrahmsosse.

Still primordial. Good all around. Really nice mid palate with glycerine mouthfeel. Curious how it will stand the test of 10-15 more years. Cautiously optimistic.

Light golden color, nose of Lemon Meringue, verbena, yellow floral note, hints of mineral dust and wet slate. Big Fuji Apple Bites, Concentration, rounded with gentle persistent underpinning lemony acidity, clean fruit, touch of grip and refreshing finish. Enjoyed 40-50 over several hours with spicy chicken biryani. Purchased from distributor as direct import and stored accordingly. Drinking great and should continue to for 5-6 years before gradual decline starts… Na zdrowie

Not sure I am very good at rating these. Very pleasant sweet, goes extremely well with truffle salami. Could be high end 5p tokay and well in the pcc sauternes area, except that with 9% alcohol, you can quaff this forever. I have a case of ,375 of these and look forward to many years (God willing) of occasionally opening these for strong cheese or specialities like truffle salami...

I am not a big drinker of these, so I might well underappreciate the wine. Went very well with sushi and is very expressive, easy-drinking (9,5%) alcohol. Will try the rest of the bottle with cheese tomorrow.

Medium-deep green color; shows a bit more intensity than most of the Kabinetts we tasted. The nose feels ripe, aromatic and thoroughly attractive with fruity aromas of red apples, sweet white peaches, some floral complexity and subtle green-toned hints of reduction like a touch of grassy vegetal character and a whiff of asparagus. The wine is lively, medium-bodied and medium-sweet on the palate with very racy, acid-driven character, pronounced steely minerality and focused flavors of green apples, lemon marmalade, some floral apple blossom nuances, a hint of peach and a touch of unripe, green fruit. The medium-dry finish is fresh, steely and somewhat green-toned with pronounced acidity long and focused flavors of green apples, some unripe white fruits, a little bit of lemon marmalade and a hint of honey.

A very lovely, focused and fresh Riesling with impeccable balance between very high, racy acidity and pronounced residual sugar sweetness, both characteristics cancelling each other out wonderfully. The very pure and intense fruit here was one of the most charming qualities here, and even though the slightly reductive (and possibly even a bit unripe) characteristics distracted at times a little, they also suited the wine surprisingly well most of the time. A very nice and crisp Riesling for now, but I wager it'll come together as even more lovely a wine if it left to age at least for a few years. It is capable of taking a lot more in a cellar, though. This wine received 7 points in our Kabinett Cup of 32 Rieslings from 2015, making it the 5th best wine of the evening. Recommended!

I think this is nice and would buy again for ~$20. Minerally as prior note says, but also nice notes of that diesel thing Riesling does, some sweet apple and pear. Balanced, kinda subtle. Like it.

Orange/Golden color, smell of dried fruit, not much honey left. This Eiswein is intense and it has a sweetness of a gold capsule Auslese. A very strong acidity to support it after 17 years !!! Dried tangerine, lime and plum. Finish is ok and after taste of black tea ???

Fantastic,
Tartaric crystals on cork, Light golden straw, Nose is subdued with hints of yellow stone fruit, botrytis, turbinado sugar and touch of funk. Deep palate pushing Spatlese, balanced and mellow, yellow peach, yellow apple skins, flashes of wild honey, apricot and herbal spice. Balancing underlying acidity. Finish tastes as if you just swallowed apple/peach sorbet. Harmonic and refreshing. Purchased as direct import, stored accordingly and enjoyed 40-55 without food. Drink now… Na zdrowie

Light straw, subdued nose even after one hour with hints of wet stone, botrytis and soft lemon. Palate shows gentile acidity, rounded with mellow fruit, seems dense for a Kabinett. White flowers, soft lemon, hints of honey dew melon and botrytis. Clean finish of hard lemon candy. Simple, Fading. Nice juice, better in its youth. Purchased as direct import, stored accordingly and enjoyed 40-55 with squid, scallions, ginger stir fry. Drink now – 5 years… Na zdrowie
