5/24/2024 - Sasha the Bear Likes this wine: 93 pointsBeautiful wine. Earth, tannic, medium body, electrical wires for an hour. Then fruits appear, still hanging on to the tannins. This wine has a few more years but it’s wonderful right now. |

5/4/2024 - AlphaMikeFoxtrot Likes this wine: 90 pointsBarnyard, wild game fat, juniper berries, ripe blueberries, ripe blackberries, ripe black cherries, black licorice, vanilla, caramel smoked cedar wood and mushroom powder on the nose. Definitely feel some French oak on this. Medium + intensity of aromas. Palate is more primary, showing mostly the plums, black cherries and blueberries. A lot less oak driven than the nose, which is a good thing. Tastes better than it smells, with a medium + intensity of flavors. |

3/18/2024 - jviz wrote: 91 pointsBig and oaky, dominated by wood including the tannic profile. This was mouth coating, with moderate extraction, balanced acidity, but quite a bit of makeup on. It had notes of smoked meat and blackberry compote. Well integrated and huge on the palate. |

1/21/2024 - JonBarnes1 Likes this wine: NRSecond bottle and even more impressed than first. In a blind tasting of Northern Rhone this stood out for its aromatic, balanced and effortless body delivering on the promise of a seductive nose of violets. Will pick up more of these and see how it develops but right now it’s on fire. |

1/21/2024 - JonBarnes1 wrote: NRTasted side by side with Tiercerolles cuvee from same vintage. This is comparatively more earthy and structured. Red fruits framed subtly by vanilla from deftly used oak. Seems possible this could age nicely, though today I’d drink the Tiercerolles hands down. |

12/31/2023 - Carlo Sarto Likes this wine: NRWhat an absolutely splendid wine! Eric Asimov has described a great Bourgogne Rouge as having "weightless intensity" and I will use his words to begin telling the story of the taste of this truly fine wine of contemplation from Louis Barruol and Kermit Lynch. IThe KL web site says it is 100% 30-50 yo Syrah. True elegance. Another word to name the taste is clarity. The taste rings -- like a bell. Or, as its name tells us -- the look of a rose. Nothing quite like this! |

11/10/2023 - valecnik Likes this wine: 93 pointsOut of the gate this feels lithe and lively, but that's quickly followed by a huge core of deep, penetrating blue and black fruits. Still has ample tannins, but it's quite refined and drinkable. Feels heavier than it is just because of that rich fruit, but is by no means cloying. I don't drink a lot of Syrahs these days, but this is an outstanding example. Highly delicious. |

8/6/2023 - Wild Boar Likes this wine: 92 pointsDeep, dark earth and black fruits in the nose which continue seamlessly into the mouth. A powerful wine that is balanced with tannins and acidity coming in at the end Rich enough to accompany braised short ribs, slapping down the fattiness without interfering with the unctuous mouthfeel. Enjoyed after the meal with little to no change in impression. Decanted for an hour and finished the bottle over 4 hours. |

6/2/2023 - GrapeScott wrote: 93 pointsMuch better than my last bottle from 2 years ago. This had no signs of reduction or off aromas and was singing right out of the gates. Feral, gamey nose with a dark berry and plum fruit core and a bit of drying tannins on the back end. Toes the line between traditional and modern styles. This is very old school on the nose but is a bit more plush and richer in the midpalate than you might see from an ultratraditionalist. Nonetheless, this is quite enjoyable, and continued to improve with air, so I'll try to hold off on my remaining bottles for a 5+ years. |

5/17/2023 - Carib Likes this wine: 91 pointsAn insane barnyard & bret funk dominated for the first 15 minutes, then just like that, it dissipated. Then, beautiful and restrained forward fruit well in front of any residual bret. This is a wine that grabs your attention for its typicity, beautiful structure, elegant in its rough edges. Oh la la. Medium finish is right. On the second night it was diminished, flat, I guess more a shooting star. For a fun night with dinner. Really overpriced. |
