Moderate aromas of citrus and nuts. Moderate+ nuanced flavors of grapefruit, citrus, and nuts. Very fresh. Moderate+ complexity/finish. Enjoyable on the first pour, but some added depth after 45 minutes. In such a great place I'm not sure I see the point of waiting. Bottled in 13/09/2021. Disgorged in 26/09/2022 with 0 g/l.

Rosé in name only, this is light and luscious pinot — floral, tea-like, and just incredibly enjoyable. PnP from the fridge and drank about half before it warmed to room temp. With time, the wine opens up to almost imitate trousseau from Jura (in a good way). I think I prefer the wine when chilled. I don’t really see this improving much with time, but I also doubt it will fade quickly.

Stellar on open... After an hour the palate sort of disappeared and became a black hole - not just a finish that vanishes but actually starts erasing what you just drank. So, pop it and drink up.

March 2024 Gouges/Chevillon Dinner (YH Beijing - SF): Deep and rich with bright red fruit that has a very intense, sweet and medicinal finish that kind of reminds me of Robitussin. Very intriguing, grabs your attention, but I don’t really think I like it. Bummer, since I have a bottle of this not to look forward to anymore.

Very special champagne.
A fruity, gummy taste on nose, with yeastiness.
By solera method, but no unpleasant oxidative. fruitiness, medium+ minerality and full body, with a bit bitterness at last. A champagne blended with all 7 grapes, rare, unique, strange but nice. Will encore

An somewhat unusual and natty champagne, showing skin contact and some confected strawberry (saignee?) notes. Good acid, but with a bit of unintegrated sweetness and that candied element, and a raspy skin contact note. A bit hollow in the mid-palate. I kinda like it, but perhaps needs time to come together.

this was an relatively elderly bottle, disgorged in 2011. auction buy so who knows about storage and handling. bottle and cork looked good. rusty gold with only a hint of mousse left to show. just a hint of bead. nose rich with toasted macadamia nuts, toffee, honey, and sherry notes. medium bodied with medium acidity still keeping things fresh. rich, deep nutty flavors with dried fruits and honey. surprisingly sweet given no dosage in this bottle. tastes a little like halva cake. a very tasty and unique treat though at this age tough to tell anything about the arbane varietal.

Medium ruby red colour with cloudy vail. Medium nose with wild raspberry, strawberry, rose petal, forest floor and wild black pepper. Medium taste of wild raspberry, strawberry, mushrooms, wild pepper and forest floor. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium body. A very good Rosé from Champagne that feels more like a very very light and well made Pinot Noir. A great experience. Needed half an hour to open up. Drink now. Goes well with duck, poultry, pork or veal.

100% Pinot Noir from the biodynamically farmed En Barmont vineyard harvested and vatted on 8th of September, 2017. Vinified mostly in whole bunches, only small amount (10%) destemmed. Fermented spontaneously, macerated with the skins for a week, then pressed and moved to oak barrels on 15th of September. Aged for 10 months in neutral, old oak barrels, bottled on 16th of July, 2019. 12% alcohol. Total production 1930 bottles and 30 magnums.

Deep, luminous raspberry marmalade color - the wine looks more like a red wine than a rosé (which is not surprising, seeing how the wine sees a whole week of skin contact). The nose is fragrant, sappy and slightly sauvage with expressive aromas of ripe raspberries and cherries, herbal stemmy notes, some crunchy cranberry tones, light yet peculiar notes of pan-fried salmon, a little bit of cooked strawberry, a hint of marmaladey red fruit, a lifted touch of sweet VA and a touch of chopped wild herbs. The wine feels ripe, concentrated and precise on the palate with a full body and intense flavors of sweet raspberries and fresh cherries, some stony mineral tones, a little bit of tart cranberry, light sauvage nuances of funk and volatile lift, a hint of lingonberry and a touch of fresh red apple. The wine is high in acidity with a little bit of tannic firmness in the background. The finish is dry, juicy and subtly grippy with a long, intense aftertaste of sour cherries, some stony mineral notes, a little bit of fresh red apple, light brambly notes of raspberries, a sweeter hint of white peach and a touch of apple peel bitterness.

An impressively firm, structured and serious rosé that both looks and is built like a red wine. True to the still wines of Champagne, the wine is somewhat leaner, lighter and slightly more austere than your typical red wines, but as far as rosé wines come, this is as stern and substantial as you can get. Compared to my previous experiences with Horiot Rosés des Riceys (all have been Barmont), this wine was seemed to show a bit less depth and that je-ne-sais-quoi that make Riceys rosés (and especially Horiot wines) so idiosyncratic and wonderful, but fortunately not by much. And that might just be due to the age - this was also much younger than any other Horiot rosé I've tasted. Yet still, this was an excellent wine in its own right and performed wonderfully, despite 2017 not being the best vintage in Champagne. Truly a gastronomic rosé if there ever was one! Not the most affordable rosé at 48,10€, but is capable of delivering value for the price - especially if given enough age!

Dry with lots of apple and funky nuts. Interesting wine with a very stand out taste in comparison to the Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque 2012 I tried a couple hours earlier.
Although an interesting foundation, other reviewers are probably correct suggesting the wine needs a bit more time in the cellar.
But try one now if you have multiples and decide for yourself. Otherwise I suggest waiting at least a couple of years.

One-of-a-kind color, somewhere between ruby, salmon and copper.
Highly oxidized nose, but it’s a feature, not a bug. Ripe red apples, cherries, blood orange and some biscuits.
Lively mouse. Texture-wise it’s a very interesting wine; intense acidity and a slightly tannic grip on the finish, bone dry.
Not something I’m craving more of, but a unique and interesting wine.

-- blend of all 7 permitted varieties: Arbane, Petit Meslier, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir --

NOSE: bready; rich, apple/mineral mix.

BODY: medium-light to medium bodied; was a gusher upon uncorking, despite being at fridge temp..

TASTE: dry; vinous; really good!; appley; a touch reductive, and perhaps just slightly oxidative, as there is a light cidery aspect to it, but it otherwise doesn't present as oxidative. There is, however, unusual depth here for a non-dosage wine --- maybe that's thanks to the blend? -- I'm not sure, and I don't care. It's delicious! Will buy again.

Decanted for 2 hours, but still tiiiiight. Pale ruby in the glass. Subtle nose, more shows on the palate. Totally agree with the taster below. A lot of green elements to this wine, followed by unripe tannins. There is good structure and stuffing to this wine, but could use 2-3 more years in the bottle.

Tried two bottles in the span of a month. Both very consistent, just depends on how long you decant them for. If no decant, the wine is extremely reductive. But after a bit of air it opens up to pleasant notes of peach, apricot, unripe pineapple, some yeastiness. Medium (+) acidity with a good concentration of fruit. Long-lasting finish. Great producer, great wine.
