5/18/2024 - gogiants925 Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted approx 45 mins. Dark burgundy in the glass, no signs of bricking on the edges. Pleasant leather/cigar box and some cherry on the nose. On the palate, some earthiness followed by red cherry. The tannins were very present and still grippy after 14 yrs. Nice mid weight finish. Went really well with homemade pizzas. A nice wine, but I was expecting a little more pop for such a great vintage. |

3/30/2024 - Mr. Slate Likes this wine: 92 pointsA one hour decant. Paired with homemade beef & ricotta manicotti. Warm garnet in the glass. Spice & pepper then some fruit on the nose. Spice, cedar, anise, green olive, and wet stone on the front of the palate and then dark ripe fruit, tobacco, cocoa, and leather on a moderate/long dry finish. As the evening progressed, the ripe fruit became more pronounced. A really nice wine with red sauce pasta dishes. |

2/28/2024 - VAGenius Likes this wine: 94 points60 minute decant. Nose of dark red fruits, euclyptus, and cocoa powder. Marble-smooth palate of black cherry with flashes of Maraschino cherry, followed by roses and rhubarb. Polished tannins on the finish with red cherry, cherry acidity, round stones and notes of watermelon. A slight bite at the finale. In its prime. |

2/21/2024 - Andrew S-L wrote: 92 pointsHad at Trattoria La Sostanza in Florence. This was closer in quality to a Brunello than I was expecting and backs up all the positive press about this producer. Dark ruby, transparent, silky and with genuine depth. Not tannic. In terms of my ‘score’, really what do points on Cellartracker mean considering we all have our own likes and dislikes…but this was so much more than I was expecting, the winemaking obviously top notch and, well, I enjoyed it a hell of a lot, hence 92. |

1/14/2024 - azogas Likes this wine: 94 pointsDecanted for 2 hours but should have waited longer as this stayed relatively tight throughout the consumption period. For the price, this was fantastic and a nice balance between elegance and power. Beautiful bouquet of red and dark cherries, cedar, leather, tobacco and spice. Firm tannins on the mid palate, juicy acidity and wonderful structure. Maybe slightly lacking in complexity. Please drink this with a proper meal paring as it screams for food. This probably has another 10 years to peak. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

8/12/2017 - Mossrose wrote: 88 pointsThis half bottle is haunted by signs of oxidation - brownish color with butterscotch in the nose. Nonetheless, the acidity is still good and you can still detect better flavors the younger wine had. Vigorous swirling in the glass helps lessen the objectionable flavors that limit how good the wine gets. Overall, a sad story that could have had a much better ending. |

11/12/2023 - Jalexander Likes this wine: 95 pointsFantastic wine! Dark cherry, cardamom, and earthy berries. Well balanced, soft tannins and smooth flavors. One of the best Brunellos I’ve had in some time. Should hold up nicely for more aging but this wine is in a great place right now. |

11/3/2023 - Tom’s Notes Likes this wine: 91 pointsDrank a little while making pasta, poured a little into the sauce. Solid wine, tastes really nice right now but I am thinking at least 3 to 5 years. Met the owner in Florence and he set me up with the current winemaker at the winery. Super nice young maker that was very knowledgeable. I think the price point represents value for this food wine! |

10/27/2023 - AlexPS Likes this wine: 96 pointsSame as last year's note, if not a bit better. Earthier. Very light sediment. Aired in decanter for 3 hrs. Ever so slightly browning rim. Bumped up the scoring for the better, $52 price (after tax). Beautiful BdM. Outstanding QPR. |

10/2/2023 - HU Likes this wine: 96 pointsPnP on a warm fall night. Upon the first sip, our first reaction was „wow!“. And it was „wow“ indeed. An impressive wine. Dark chocolate, dark berries, pepper, a potpourri of spices. Almost full-bodied and cab-like rather than the more typical „thin“ Brunello. Loved it. Good to drink now, but still quite tannic. This one has many years ahead to be enjoyed. 96 for now. I suspect that it will become smoother and rounder in the coming years, warranting a higher mark then. Perhaps not 100 Suckling points, but it will be close. |
