This was fantastic. Great weight and balance. Deep cherry flavors. Should age well in the medium term.

A very rare cru near clos de la roche. Les Charrières' east-facing position at the bottom of the slope gives the vines a gentle angle toward the rising sun. This exposure helps the vines to develop sugars and phenols in the cool Burgundian climate, but this is less efficient than in the steeper vineyards higher on the hill (which also have slightly better drainage). As such, grapes retain more acidity and Les Charrieres Premier Cru wines tend to be slightly leaner than Morey-Saint-Denis Grand Cru wines.

This wine also has a very good structure with rich aroma of red fruits and berries. 90% detalked with process during vinification. Around 1/3 new oak. It has a full body with a lot of texture on the wine itself. Long bitter and acidic finishing. Bitter tannin but it gets smoother after a few hours. Still feel a lot of potential on this wine.

Hard structure and austere, no charm or pleasure.
Shows farmyard and blackberry but not expressive. Medium length, some complexity. Untouched by age apart ftom the developing farmyard and the loss of fresh fruits when first bottled. Will last a long time but will improve.

Still a bit young. Great mouth filling balance and texture. Tannin is powdery and integrated. Aftertaste still somewhat tannic (not at all bitter). Needs a few years.

Dark cerise.
From the get go the nose is an ultra-complex cavalcade of feminine floral scents framing limestone mineralite with subtle hints of spice, citrus, bay leaf.
Weightless mineral palate of great pinosity, subtle red fruits, sous bois, a real filigree, lacy texture, gosh, can’t wait to taste o few of the 1ers.

Red colour pale rim
Ripe strawberries on the nose, spicy aromatic nose with marzipan,
Ripe strawberries on the palate, a little volatile, slightly firm tannins, almond/ nutty texture
Nice wine, a little rough round the edges, but drinkable and fruity. Paid about £20 for this so not bad.

(Out of half bottle) Still youthful, red fruits on the nose, with seductive raspberry and red cherry evident. Red cherry and very good acidity. This has years to run. Still feels like a baby, but drinking well now.

Absolutely wonderful except for one thing holding it back- the structure. The fruit is beautiful, ripe, and complex, with deep black cherry compote, almost veering into a muddled blueberry vibe, and there's a nice dose of earthiness that never gets in the way of the fruit- a bit of soil, leather, dark herbal shades, faint minerality, and so on. Smells like a great example of Burgundy from a hot vintage, with thick fruit that still appears "fresh" and aromatic. Then you get to the palate. This is very possibly- no, definitely- the MOST TANNIC Pinot Noir I've ever tried, from any region or vintage. Extremely coarse, furry, and gritty. Lingers on the tongue like sandpaper. Sure, the acidity and fruit are still there, but this is harsher, texturally, than many a young Nebbiolo or Left-Bank Bordeaux. Food is DESPERATELY needed for this wine, with some fatty charcuterie taking some of the edge off. Then again, maybe what it really needs is a lot more time. I bet this could be considerably better in like 10-15 years, which is something I almost never say about any wine, let alone Pinot.

I rarely drink a 2007 that disappoints and this is no exception. Yes it lacks the tension and complexity that you hope to find in a good vintage, but quaffability should never be ignored. From a 375ml this is drinking beautifully for me, with only early tertiary development and still plenty of fruit weight on the palate. v good.

True to the vintage, this has lovely depth and richness, and shows the evolution in winemaking as it is accessible now but clearly will improve with time. Rustic fruit but not course, it has a pleasant cool fruit backbone. Excellent

Christmas evening in megeve, pairing with pintade. Decanted for 2 hours, from a magnum. Red cherry, ash, black pepper, wet forest floor, mushroom on the nose. Med acidity, med alcohol, med body, med flavor intensity, dry tannins, med finish. Red fruit, cherries, roses, orange, light touch of capsicum, ash, milk chocolate, wet forest floor, i like the lingering greenness. Very enjoyable and perfectly pairing with pintade.

Friday evening in bonneville. The start of the Christmas holidays so we are all happy. Medium ruby color. Dried red cherries, smoke, ash, wet forest floor, vanilla, black pepper, nice and perfumed nose. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, dry and green tannins, med finish. Nice red fruit, smoky mouth, touch of capsicum, mushroom, subtle black truffles, ash, minerality, very subtle, enjoyable. Very likeable and subtle! I know this house over a decade and these wines are always rustic and tannic over the first 7-8 years but once this is dissolved they become beautiful and very drinkable wines. Bought at the time directly from the domaine for ca 35 euros.

Deep purple red.
On initial taste this had the characteristic’20 plush, velvety dark exotic florals and fruits, but with air a more savoury wine emerged, dark graphite, charcuterie, black olive tapenade, mouth coating but weightless. Utterly delicious.

Dark, impenetrable purple red.
The nose a veritable cavalcade of complex floral scents: peonies, lilac, roses, sweet confection and subtle feminine spice.
On the palate more robust, savoury, spicy, powdery limestone mineralite, Sri Lankan spice, sweet, dense, a powerhouse, yet simultaneously lithe. Such and accomplished wine: by no means aristocratic, but hedonistic, authentic, delightful, sadly my last bottle…

Very nice classic NSG drinking in its prime right now.
Hue appropriate for its age.
Nice nice with iron, earthy and spicy elements, some fruit remains.
The texture is great with just a little of the ripe tannins apparent.
long clean finish
Will continue to drink well but probably at its peak now.

DP Barcode #s, Pinot Noir, and Sweeties (DeeCee): Slight orange edge to the otherwise garnet color. Abysmal rotten egg sulfur aromas that just wouldn't blow off. Rating here based on my final tastes nearly 4 full days after opening. The palate finally emerged with a mix of red fruit and mineral notes and a stern collection of chewy tannin. Sulfur nose did not subside for days! Off bottle??

Tasted blind. My 7th place, group's 7th.
