  • Friday evening in bonneville. The start of the Christmas holidays so we are all happy. Medium ruby color. Dried red cherries, smoke, ash, wet forest floor, vanilla, black pepper, nice and perfumed nose. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, dry and green tannins, med finish. Nice red fruit, smoky mouth, touch of capsicum, mushroom, subtle black truffles, ash, minerality, very subtle, enjoyable. Very likeable and subtle! I know this house over a decade and these wines are always rustic and tannic over the first 7-8 years but once this is dissolved they become beautiful and very drinkable wines. Bought at the time directly from the domaine for ca 35 euros.

  • This pours between light and medium ruby in the glass with faint bricking at the rim. The nose is expressive on first pop, quite complex, though marred by some green and oaky elements which hold it back. Aromas are of cedar, nutty oak, hazelnut, green bean, cherry, pomegranate, a touch of plum, loamy earth, and moss. The palate is a tad disjointed with some drying new oak tannin, medium acid, and a green bean note along the finish. There is some Nuits charm here but overall this is far from great and not a great value proposition at $120 CAD.

  • Classic Burgundy aromas of cranberry red fruits, fair amount of development (leaf, earth) and a distinct note of fresh mint. Nice fresh palate, very enjoyable but fades quickly into a disappointing and dusty finish. Typical and pleasurable but only decent, not outstanding.

  • Red fruits, cherries, raspberry, pomegranate. Simple read fruits, disappointing. Many MANY wines at half the price offer more enjoyment.
