This wine will be perfectly fine for people who enjoy a certain style, but it hits all the wrong notes for me. Overly fruity, not enough structure, mass market red wine feeling.

"They don’t know that my wine is over the hill."

"Yes we do, the last CT review is literally from 2008."

35% Syrah, 20% CS, 20% Carmenère, 15% PN, 10% Merlot from different regions of Chile. Named after ‘BO’ from Bordeaux, ‘RO’ from Rhone and ‘BO’ from Bourgogne and sold as a premium red blend (over $50!). The whole idea behind this feels so dated today. Just very "early 2000s". Had to try it as a curiosity.

Decanted for two hours. Dark chocolate, dried bay leaves, leather, old paper, stewed/cooked blackberries and black cherries on the nose. The longer it's open, the fresher the fruit feels; but overall it's still pretty tertiary and smells past its prime. Medium + intensity of aromas. On the palate, the fruits feel a bit fresher still, and it's actually pretty pleasant to drink. A lot of dried herbs and old paper/books flavors too, though the finish is pure over ripe blackberries and black cherries. Medium + intensity of flavors.

Medium + body, medium acid and shockling alive medium + tannins. This will be one of those wines where the structure outlasts the flavors for sure. Structurally, it's pretty impressive. Flavor wise...should have been drank 5-10 years ago. If you somehow have a bottle of this and want to try, make sure to give it a long decant.

Dark ruby, with lighter rim, this displays tobacco, black cherries, oak, spices, and pepper on the nose. Dried cherries, currants, blackberries and chocolate flow across the palate to a long and lingering finish. Medium bodied, rich, with soft, smooth tannins, this is elegant and enjoyable. Great QPR. Nicely done!

We really liked this wine. It was smooth, balanced, nice fruit/wood ratio, long finish, and a good price. Would definitely buy again - such a nice change from the heavy California sock you in the face style of Cabs.

Ripe red cherry, boysenberry, black plum, green and black olive, green bell pepper, fresh oregano, light "sweet" vanilla, toast, and warm baking spice. Inky purple color. M+ intensity. M+ concentration. Full body. M+ acid. M+ rustic tannins have a bit of green stemminess, and would benefit from more ripeness and integration. Solid QPR, and would benefit from more finesse. M finish. Good quality. Big ripe mostly-smooth wine is a crowd-pleaser. 92% Carmenère, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Syrah.

Decanted 1 hour, dark colored, notes of chalk, crushed stones, peppers, blackberries emerge from this medium bodied wine that ends on a hot and austere finish. I’m not sure if time will resolve the harshness. A disappointment considering it’s $26CAD price tag. Drink now.

88% Carmenère and 12% Syrah of selected plots in the municipality of Santa Cruz, in the district of Apalta, in the Chilean valley of Colchagua. It ferments in stainless steel tanks and is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels. Black fruit, spices, toasted, liqueur notes, balsamic, mineral, balanced, with freshness, tasty and with a long finish.

medium amber in the glass with some alcohol and wood at rest. on swirling and aeration the toasted wood yields to aromatic peach cobbler, hints of caramel and yellow blossom. fairly smooth, a woody tobacco spice notes provides an initial bite that then melds to layers of stonefruit and pear laced with caramel, vanilla and the ever-present wood notes. a ginger spice note carries the long finish.

40% AbV; blend of Moscatel de Alejandría and Moscatel Rosada from the Elqui and Limarí Valleys.; double-distilled on copper alembic stills from Cognac (unique in Chile); six years ageing in a mix of new and used (in Cognac!) French oak barrels.

clear with a bit of alcohol. very aromatic nose of white orange blossoms, rose petals, green apple peel and tangerine zest. there's a bite of ginger on the entry that melds into herbal fennel-like spice notes; stonefruit and pear flavours emerge along a beeswaxy texture. long finish with a return of the ginger.

probably a bit too expressive in both nose and palate for mixology,, but enjoyable on its own due to the delightful aromatics and the combination of flavours. while generally smooth, there are some rough patches here and there until it's aerated for a handful of minutes.

40% AbV; blend of Moscatel de Alejandría and Moscatel Rosada from the Elqui and Limarí Valleys.; double-distilled on copper alembic stills from Cognac (unique in Chile).

Somewhat of a disappointment over three bottles. Just shy of Varietally correct but yes. Overly robust and fruity without the depth and character of a decent Cab. It’s ok, just probably better choices at this price point. Had high aspirations for Lapostolle dating back many years, but overpriced for the lack of quality
