First Chilean red I've had in a while and it was excellent. The aromas are of cherry, raspberry and a hint of green pepper. This is medium to full-bodied with flavors of blackberry, plum with some vanilla. Not as acidic but has a smooth and lengthy finish.

Opened and poured, no decant. Funky notes, herbacous, garrigue. But is structured, and a tight core of black fruit and Tannat like tannins to finish with black peppery notes. Would not guess this was a Merlot, lacking purity of fruit. 87 a good wine not to my taste. Second day. A bit more integrated and opened. The funk has blown off, and the fruit showed more directly. Drinks like a California Petit Sirah with a little splash of St. Emillion. Big. Would be interesting to see how this evolves 3-5 years out.

Probably past its prime, but still fruity and delicious. Will be eager to try this Chilean wine in a more recent vintage
