This wine is citrusy with notes of pear, green apple, and a hint of peppery spice. Not incredibly complex, but has really refreshing, mouth-watering acidity and a bit of effervescence. It is just so good with Asian flavors. Did I mention it comes in liter bottles? |

Tons of nectarine, a little bit of lime zest and much subtler herbal accents. Great acidity, a little tart and puckery, but I like the energy. A touch of fizz on day 1. Lasts for days in the fridge, and a very easy choice for large scale picnics. A few bucks more gets you more interesting white wine. Really good nonetheless, and better than their Blaufrankisch. |

4/15/2022 - sid_loves_wine Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis was nice and tasty for $18/liter- solid on its own, feels like real wine, but to me it fell short as an example of Blaufränkisch and its capabilities. I've had several for a few dollars more that showed far more complex and distinct character, not to mention just being far more delicious (I find they often evoke great cool-climate syrah or occasionally Cru Beaujolais). This felt much more generic to me, light and pretty but extemely simple with soft red cherry, acceptable acidity, extemely low tannin, and a pinch of bitterness on the finish with a faint herbal note that I didn't love as much. I like the elegance and reddish fruit, but I prob wouldn't buy this again nor recommend it as a serious example of the grape. Their Grüner is a little better imo, also very simple but more engaging and refreshing at least! |
