At around £30 this is all you could hope for in a South African Chardonnay. Generous and elegant, not long or complex perhaps but splendid balance. A high altitude limestone vineyard. Young vines - 13 years so the quality should only improve.

This for me is certainly better than the 2010 (no note) which was well beaten by the 2018 Rathfinny Rose at a tasting in late 22 (see note). And also a stronger showing than the 2010 white 1086. At £175 or so this is seriously priced. Time will tell if its worth it. Not yet I'd say.

51% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 9% Pinot Meunier. Serious and ambitiously priced of course. At or above the 2010 which is still widely available. 2013 a very even year in terms of weather and a late harvest. This likely to be long lived and is clearly very young. The NV, Blanc de Blancs and Cuvee Cherie are all exemplary and punch at or above their weight with champagne or other great sparkling wines of the world in similar price brackets. For me, alas this doesn't.
