  • This was nice and tasty for $18/liter- solid on its own, feels like real wine, but to me it fell short as an example of Blaufränkisch and its capabilities. I've had several for a few dollars more that showed far more complex and distinct character, not to mention just being far more delicious (I find they often evoke great cool-climate syrah or occasionally Cru Beaujolais). This felt much more generic to me, light and pretty but extemely simple with soft red cherry, acceptable acidity, extemely low tannin, and a pinch of bitterness on the finish with a faint herbal note that I didn't love as much. I like the elegance and reddish fruit, but I prob wouldn't buy this again nor recommend it as a serious example of the grape. Their Grüner is a little better imo, also very simple but more engaging and refreshing at least!
