Medium golden colour. Medium nose with honeysuckle, nectarine, pineapple, toast and minerals. Medium taste of pineapple, lemon, nectarine, butter, cream, toast, charred wood and minerals. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium body. Goes well with cheese, fish, poultry or shellfish.

My only note was that I liked this Chardonnay. Well balanced and tasty. This was at an industry event where note taking was not my forte on this particular day. First time I had heard of this producer.

Smoke dominates, clearing to reveal a full- bodied, somewhat cloying yet luscious Pinot Noir.

Did not stand the test of time. In the beginning there was still some strawberry madness going on, but due to the missing structure the wine was a little flabby and alcoholic. It was definitely not for the long run.

Comparing with a Wrath clone mix, Dijon is heavier and smoother, and maybe that's what is referred to as French. Both Wrath and Scott are from vineyards in the Monterey AVAs, similar soils and climate. Both fine wines. I will keep a supply of both.

Coming out of the bottle, something in me expected the lightness in color simply from the region, however I was pleasantly surprised upon tasting! This wine has a gorgeous garnet color with bright clarity. Heavier bodied for a pinot noir, the aromas were pleasant and vibrant boasting dark berries and plum with the oak aging made apparent. After tasting, there is high acidity from the higher alcohol content leaving your gums tingling for more. With deeper berry flavors like fresh summer blackberries and a fresh stoniness in the finish, this one was a win for me. Linear and complete, reminds me of French style pinots.

Medium light cherry cola extracted color, with a reticent strawberry aroma that intensifies with warming to room temperature.
The mouthfeel is of a medium viscosity, silky smooth, and well balanced with harmony of acidity and peripheral tannins, supporting sweet red Strawberry fruit giving way to a dusty cherry on the finish, that even when cold (50 degree Fahrenheit natural cellar tonight), is velvety and much lighter and brighter than the Monterey etiology and 14.5% alcohol level would imply.
This is an elegant and very pretty wine, quite delicate yet definitive in its varietal identity, more French than most California or Oregon expressions we have enjoyed. Like sunshine on the palate. Expect the price point to increase.

Cherry, cola spice, raisin, flint... Very enjoyable, went down all too easily. Not transcendent but a crowd pleaser for sure.

Pale yellow. Vanilla, yellow apple and a smoky umami fragrance akin to truffled butter. More yellow apple and malolactic creaminess on the palate. An astringent and slightly bitter finish, maybe due be to wood tannins?

The wine has notes of peach, and green apple on the nose. On the palate, more of the same with a touch of creamy sweet oak. Bright citrusy minerality. The wine was delicious with this meal bruschetta salmon burgers with a fab remoulade and my garden greens. On the side, I made a salad of tomatoes, cucumber. from my garden, snap peas, basil and nasturtium.

This wine has a vibrant red color, reminiscent of cranberry juice. The nose has cherries, a bouquet of basil and sage and the aroma of an earthy wooded forest. The first tastes are of cherries and cassis accompanied by aromatic herbs with an overlay of old French oak. The finish has a black peppercorn kick to it with mild tannins and an almost nasal sensation resulting from the sharp alcohol.

This wine allegedly retails for $45, but I purchased purchased on sale for $25 with a 10% discount. I bought it because it received a 93 from Wine Enthusiast and a 91 from Wilfred Wong. I guess I understand the ratings because, for the price, it is a complex wine with a unique bouquet and taste.

However, this wine wasn't for me. A bit too much on the herbal fragrance and taste and the spicy peppercorn finish accompanied by a high alcohol level made it less enjoyable.

This wine paired well with grilled lamb chops with a brown sugar, black pepper and garlic rub, scalloped potatoes and broccoli.

A final note, I'm still looking for a Pinot Noir that I actually enjoy. Most have been exceedingly average. This one did stand out, but the tastes were not for my palate.
