2021 VINTJS Chardonnay Sonoma Countymore |
2/4/2024 - oakville72 wrote: 86 pointsRather dark for a Chardonnay. Typical formulaic California Chard with plenty of fruit, a touch of oak, not enough acid and a hint of sweetness in the finish. Not my style but many Chard lovers will like it, especially for the <$10 price. |

2/5/2021 - IrvineCellar Does not like this wine: 68 pointsMedium ruby color. The aromatic nose is cherry cola and strawberry pop tarts. It has a candy fruitcake quality. Medium bodied, a tad bit of sweetness, little in the way of tannins and acid. It’s full of that candy fruit flavor. The finish is a little tannic without the acidity. 68 pts |

6/15/2020 - BBinSC wrote: 87 points87-88: lovely shade of pink, not much of a nose, nice fruity notes with a decent amount of acid to balance the taste, it's good. Hints of menthol on the finish. It's a good value at $6.99, not as dry as the previous vintage, more fruit driven than savory. |

4/24/2020 - Alden wrote: 88 pointsI decided to put my 2 bottles to work with some Beef Burgeon. In it went- of course reserving a plenteous supply for consumption! I think this wine was not quite hardy enough for the dish and probably something like a Cote du Rhone might have been better. So----- tasting it with he finished product, at first, very closed. But, after a while it did open up. A very good (surprise) effort. I would prefer it slightly chilled. But a respectable wine. NICE (somewhat restrained) nose of blueberry, rose and a little ether in there. Now two days later, hanging in there and enjoyable. Caution- it's not going to blow you out of the water, but you won't regret the experience. Has a few more years left. Signing off now------------ |

2016 VINTJS ArneisRussian River Valley more |
2/8/2019 - oakville72 Likes this wine: 88 pointsI applaud ANY wine shop or restaurant that offers something other than the popular choices of Chardonnay-Sauvignon Blanc-Pinot Grigio-Moscato. This Arneis (from what I understand) comes from vineyards owned by the Seghesio family, which sold their operations to Crimson Wine Group in 2011. Crimson focuses on some fairly exclusive brands, so hopefully the quality under the Seghesio name will continue. Seghesio still offers an Arneis, but apparently they make more Arneis than they can sell under the Seghesio label, so the remainder (or at least some of it) goes to Trader Joe's. |

5/4/2015 - forceberry wrote: 80 pointsTranslucent pomegranate color with a clear, colorless rim. Quite open nose with aromas of ripe cherry, tar-flavored candies, some smoke-cured beef, a little bit of earthy Pinosity and a hint of toasty oak. The wine is lively and crunchy on the palate yet also surprisingly full-bodied and concentrated for a Pinot Noir. There are flavors of cranberries, ripe and sweet-toned red fruits, a little bit of strawberry jam, a hint of cherry marmalade, light woody tones and a touch of sweet, Cognac-like oak spice. Moderately high in acidity with very light and easy tannins. The finish is soft, mellow and noticeably short with brief flavors of peppery Pinosity, some ripe cherry tones and a hint of sweet oak spice. |

6/16/2018 - BBinSC wrote: 88 points87-89: this wine is good - lighter than the Arroyo Grande version, and this one goes more towards a watermelon/citrusy/savory style than the lusher AG. At $6.99, it's a steal. |

5/28/2018 - BBinSC wrote: 90 pointsRose tasting 2018 - compared with Elouan 2016, My Essential, and the Kirkland 2017, the Trader Joes brand was the winner. It has the deepest color, the best balance of fruit and acidity, and it was the cheapest of the bunch. It's on the New World side, so it's bright with high notes, but great for a hot summer's day. Really well done, getting more. |
