Decanted before starting dinner prep, and consumed over the next 2 hours. Deep garnet color with no bricking.
Opened quickly in the glass. Subtle nose of cedar and spices. Sweet red and blue fruit with baking spices, earth, and slightly bitter tannin. Medium weight and moderate finish. Quite nice by itself, but definitely better with food. Fully mature with some years left in hand. 91+

Still good, mostly fruit driven, like aged cherry fruit, some cola notes, a little menthol early but maybe not after open. Basically good fruit base, more cherry, less cocoa and coffee of Left Bank. A little tannin taste, but resolved. Drinking well and easy. At times it reminds me of an aged bigger Burgundy with the fruit profile. Good. 13% not hot either. Not stellar but a solid enjoyable bottle. After open hours, half bottle, it still seems young. Again not stellar, but good and younger notes.

In a very good place right now.
Elegant, fully integrated with the bdx markers in place.
Colour starting to get that brick hue.
Red berries, rust, oriental spice, cedar/pencil shavings and a touch of brett and tobacco.
Smooth tannins (brushed leather/sandalwood) and a refreshing finish.

Drank in parallel w Guigal Brune et Blonde -12 where the Belair came out on top.

Decanted for 3h - Glass: Riedel Veritas Merlot

At home at dinner (canneloni). Medium ruby-purple. Forward aroma exhibits fleshy merlot fruit. I the mouth, soft, round and ready. Medium body. Nice finish. Lightweight but pleasant. 5-10-15-6: 86/100.

This was brought by RacerChris and (I believe) decanted for a couple of hours beforehand. I had never had this producer's wine before, and found it to be a very harmonious, balanced old-school style of Bordeaux that still has a lot of vitality left and drinks like a younger wine. I enjoyed the crunchy green bell pepper, subtle smoke and minty notes, which made me think of Chinon or of a more Cab Franc-dominated wine. Not overtly fruity; I thought of LaGrange (St Julien) a bit with this. Still has some slightly drying tannins, but these keep it honest and make the wine exceptionally food-friendly. It seems to be in a great spot now, but seems balanced enough to go another 10 years no problem, although not sure on how or whether it will improve. Not a dense or overly complex wine, but one of poise and balance. Quietly seductive. Thanks to Chris for bringing this!

Currant, casis, tobacco, leather, soft round tannis. Very nice drinking wine on its own. A bit softer and lighter than my personal preference in Bordeaux but a lovely wine. Would have liked to have tried it a few years ago for reference but nothing to not like here.

PnP, and drank over 2 evenings.
Blueberry and plum dominated on opening, a bit tight still on the second glass.
On the second night it had settled down and showed even better than our first bottle.

Double decanted in the morning. A pleasing fruity aroma reached my nose as I was pouring. Transparent red color with no garnet or bricking noticed.
Consumed in the evening with appetizers and during dinner prep.
This is a nice classically styled dry wine, showing subtle fruit elements with earthiness and firm tannins that gradually settle into the background. Drinking well now and I see some upside to further cellaring.
Very good/excellent.

Wow, this wine is actually getting younger with its deep bluish fruit having more body, gloss, and sweetness than I remember from any of my prior bottles. All the vegetal snap and edgy cab franc elements it used to show (which I loved) now seem pretty well absorbed into the flesh. Somehow this could still have decades ahead of it.

A beautiful bottle!
Bramberry, sweet liqorice, ink and brett. Evolving nicely over 2hours, with increasing body of rust/iron, pencil shavings and a faint herbal note. Far more powerful than my last bottle. Would pair superbly with elegant dark game meat dishes.

Drinking great now but has the backbone for further aging

Medium deep ruby with just a faint hint of aging - big aromas, even wafting as I decanted - as I do this note, has been decanted about two hours - blackcurrant and hints of tobacco on the nose, same on the palate, although it leans more toward the savoury tobacco side there - I'm trying to be objective here, after reading so many meh comments on CT - but if this was blind, I'm pretty sure I'd say 91 - tannins are still there in spades, and while this is perfectly delightful to drink now, I think I'll hold that other bottle a few years, notwithstanding prevailing opinions

very similar comments to July 2018
Very good, 13.5% all.
Colour: deep red berries, somewhat dusty
Bouquet: juicy dark berries and cherries, spicey
Palate: like bouquet, mint, savoury, characteristic Bordeaux bone dryness, chalky fine tannins, leather, medium length finish. Still a bit sharp and can keep rest yers yet.

Medium/deep ruby core, narrow pale ruby/garnet rim. The nose shows attractive, pure red fruit - strawberry, perhaps a touch of cranberry, lots of florals, hint of earth. Medium bodied, elegant and quite linear without becoming austere, lovely pure red fruit, just a touch of spice, very fine, filigree tannins, bright with vibrant acids and a good length finish with just a touch of (not unwelcome) asperity right at the end. As classic as they come, and lovely with it.

Spicy nose with some violets and a dark fruit profile that we find also on the fairly balanced palate, medium bodied and length, doesn’t show too much age, good but no big emotion or nothing special drinking this.

Nez épicé avec des violettes et des fruits noirs que l’on retrouve en bouche aussi, assez bon, bel équilibre, longueur moyenne, équilibré et ne montre pas son âge, mais rien de spécial et peu d’émotion à boire ce vin.

Drinking beautifully right now. At only 12,5% ABV it's quite elegant but with loads of barnyard aromas, dark fruit and cedar. Not a powerhouse so pair it accordingly!

Very smooth and elegant, but a bit plain. Very subtle nose. Fully integrated structure, mixed (mostly dark) fruits. It is matured, but has some potential to develop stronger secondary aromas with more cellaring, which would perhaps make it a more exciting wine.
