5/4/2024 - Jeff Leve wrote: 90 pointsCurrants, flowers, tobacco, cedar, and black cherries with soft, creamy tannins, and a refreshing, mint, and red currant finish is what you will find here. And it is going to be easy to enjoy on release too! Drink from 2027-2038. 89-91 Pts. |

4/22/2024 - pinoteer Likes this wine: 91 pointsDecanted for one hour. WOW! Perfect blend of acidity and tannins, with lively fruit (mostly red fruit initially) and some tertiary flavors. This is comparable to Pauillac's costing twice as much. Only 13.5 ABV, too. So good now, but can keep for another 5-8 years. Easily 90 points, but a pleasure score of 92. Great QPR. |

5/8/2023 - Jeff Leve wrote: 91 pointsBlack currants, savory herbs, cedar, and tobacco form the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, chewy, crunchy, and crisp, with a strong, savory, and peppery edge. This is quite classic, old-school in style, that some tasters will like more than others. Drink from 2026-2042. 90-92 Pts. |

2/12/2023 - Gerhard3 Likes this wine: NRDifferent shades of green... Santa Monica, Carmenère Reserva 2010, Rapel, Chile. Has a strong note of green paprika, often considered a flaw, but I do like it... in fact I confess that I find most ripe "un-green" Carmenères quite boring. Having said this, no pretention of greatness nor complexity here, and the fruit is overpowered by paprika. Some smoke though. The mouth is more complex, plum and some cherry and cassis competing with the paprika, medium+ volume, good acidity and really great quality of tannins for a 4 Euro wine. Château Bellegrave, Les Charmes, Pauillac 2009, Bordeaux. Here the green note is quite present as well, but is not left alone. Wood (maybe combination of old and new?), and, in tbe background, blackcurrent. The mouth, consistent with nose, medium to full volume and more flesh than the Carmenère. Acidity and tannins fine, albeit with a very slight sensation of "chewing wood". |

Abgang eher kurz. Eine vergnügliche kleine Köstlichkeit. |

8/17/2022 - Stufonhead Likes this wine: 90 pointsAustere nose. Nice pencil lead, tobacco, cranberry. Palate initially also austere but give it some air and the fruit comes forward a little, allowing some fun. Plenty of time I think. I'd say give it a few hours of air on next bottle. |
