Still not ready. Still need time. Crazy. Next to their cotes de Beaune, this is more fruity, complex, and slightly more concentrated. BTW, this is not the same wine as the CDB like I have heard rumors of (at least by what I'm tasting). Strawberry, raspberry, dark red fruit floral bouquet. Nice strawberry, fresh red cherry, sweet earth, dark red fruit flavors. Long finish with tannins and acidity. With extended breathing, drinkable now, but will benefit from further cellaring. Possibly best from 2029-2034? Incredible QPR. A BEAST! |

3/16/2024 - Adam Pritzker Likes this wine: 91 points91-92+. What???? This wine is 10 years YOUNG. Dark ruby color. Loads of tannins and acidity, but lots of fruit to hold up to it. Crazy density and concentration for a Cotes de Beaune, especially at 10 years told (but that's how this Domaine rolls). Smoky, dark cherry, earthy fruit. Impenetrably tannic upon opening. About a half hour later, it starts to open up. An hour after opening, more accessible. 10 hours later, showing much better with more fruit and the tannins and acidity less prominent. Outstanding QPR. A tour de force. The Ladoix next to it was a little less tannic, more fruit, more concentrated, more complex. Based on this bottle, still needs more time to open up. If drink now, needs to breathe. Maybe best from 2029-2034? |

First time drinking a d'Ardhuy Burgundy and was not expecting much given the good but not great vintage, and not being much of a Clos Vougeot fan in general. But this was nothing like the expected lean, dark fruited and earthy Pinot. Instead a slightly cloudy ruby in the glass. Very Vosne like on the palate with beautiful red fruit and wood spices. Resolved tannins. Good length. Beautiful wine. |

8/9/2023 - Vinumming & Ahhing Likes this wine: NRAloxe-Corton and Ladoix at Ariana II (Ariana 2, Kilburn, London): Served a little warmer than ideal but a very interesting and more-ish wine. The nose has ginger snap character as well as some apricot richness. The palate feels fully mature with a lovely creamy richness, some Alphonse mango and the faintest suggestion of tarragon. Would look for this in other vintages based on this showing although suggest the 2015s should be enjoyed over the next year. |

8/9/2023 - oenanthe Likes this wine: 88 pointsLadoix and Aloxe (Ariana II): Quite a golden yellow, 'older' than the vintage suggests, and it is no surprise that this shows some confection on the nose. As a package it is rich, concentrated, round and spherical, glowing with yellow fruit - quite noble. I actually find it a bit honied and overtly ripe in terms of what I look for in white Burgundy, perhaps related to the solaire vintage, but it is a fine glass of wine nonetheless. I'd have preferred it slightly colder and with a dish that could stand up to it, as it was it was served as a segway between courses. |

When one tastes promise of a good future, it sometimes never comes to fruition. This is not at peak but the flower is blooming and its beautiful. Insanely complex and concentrated. Good dark fruits, earth, dirty earth, red fruits. Incredible complexity. LONG finish. Harmony, balance. It has that IT factor. A MUST HAVE. Despite its high price tag, OUTSTANDING QPR. Cellar selection. Drink now, but not at peak. Best from 2025-2035, possibly longer. DELICIOUS!!! Probably the best kosher red Burgundy I've tried |
