Maybe not a wine for ageing and 5 years is too long? I get that Chile is trying reeeaaaly hard to find their own "signature grape" like rivals "Argentinamalbecwine" but somehow I don't think that this is the answer....(at least not this wine). |

3/26/2024 - andrewfowler Likes this wine: 88 pointsMy first Pais, strawberry aroma, leaning a little jammy, quite rustic and spiced. Goes down smooth at first, followed by a slight sandiness from the tannins. Very light body, with a cinnamon-stick finish. Just pleasant country wine (as the name might imply), and decidedly Grenache-adjacent. |

1/1/2024 - Zoltán Németi Likes this wine: 90 pointsA bit opulent and sweet on the nose, as all Chilean reds, yet it’s savoury at the same time. Rose hips, cooked strawberries, litchies, petrol, a bit of herbs – quite a lot going on the nose. It’s like the warm climate version of Hungarian kadarka. Juicy, smooth and light on its feet, beautifully held together by great, gently firm tannins. Pure, balanced and so enjoyable. 89-90 points. Highly recommended. Drink now. |

11/8/2023 - Treldman Likes this wine: 89 pointsLovely yellow in the glass with a light nose of lemon zest, pear, and orange peel. The palate is well rounded with good acidity, a medium long finish, and notes of green apple, lemon, a pleasant slight hint of nutty oxidation, and a dry minerality. A nice refreshing wine that goes great with fish cakes. |

8/1/2023 - Omar Khayyam Likes this wine: 89 pointsLovely rendering of the Pais grape - unfiltered and unoaked (I think clay amphorae?) this has all that natural wine freshness, energy and spring to it. Great nose with a lot of red berries and some sour ale notes that are very nice. On the palate it has a broader repertoire with some sweetness to balance the apple cider vinegar esters. Really nice bottle! |

12/3/2022 - zachb1125 Likes this wine: 89 pointsFirst Chilean wine, highly enjoyable and excellent value! Pretty interesting nose, a little tight at first with a lot of darker fruits, violets, opens up with a little green. Smells like there could be a small amount of stem inclusion, but it doesn't come through so much on the palate. |

11/29/2022 - Wine Diplomats Likes this wine: 89 points100 year old dry-farmed vines. Hand-harvested. Traditional methods used like zaranda mats to destem and press the grapes. Native yeasts. The nose is expressive with fruity and floral notes. The palate is light and fairly simple though. Overall, a Pais that leans towards Beaujolais in style. Feels like they must add some sulfur because it’s less rustic and funky than some traditionally made Pais from Chile. |
