Picked up as a curio at auction. Fill to top of neck so great cork. Deep orange amber colour. Kind of nothing nose who slowly opened up a bit over time but still just a whiff of something ? cinnamon. Sweet but drying at same time. In remarkable nick for a 48 year old wine, could have passed for a 20 year old. Thickish, somewhat unctious and very smooth. Tasted like a mid to top end mature Sauterne but with the structure that Loire chenin gives. Thuis was a lot of fun to open and taste.

Golden. Great delicious scent of ripe apple. Fat and oily. Delicious acidity with good length

Color something between redcurrant and mullet. Delicious aromas of honey and red berries, like raspberries and plums. Light weighted, velvety and semi sweet on the palate. I mean a bottle tasted before X-mas was better, though.

Past prime for sure, but still very drinkable. Some fruit, some sweetness, some acidity, but pretty weak altogether.
But still, over 50 years old!!

Un ami invité a amené cela,
10 ans après ma dernière expérience de ce 1992.
La dernière de ce millésime était en 2012, je crois.

C'est un millésime variable.
Il faut donc s'exécuter !
Le bouchon a cassé en deux...
NET ! Comme s'il était coupé au couteau !

À l'ouverture, les notes de botrytis côtoient le fond d'orange/tangerine.
On le carafera deux heures au frigo.

Cette fiole là a merveilleusement résisté au temps.
Le fond de botrytis décelé à l'ouverture, s'est complètement effacé.

Il ne reste que son fruit très confit, appuyé par une acidité tout à fait conséquente lui donne une longueur appréciable.

Un bonbon qui a déboulé vitement !

Un autre beau jeune de 31 ans...

Lightly corked, especially the nose. In the mouth a balanced perhaps young wine that I drank although others at the dinner did not. Noteworthy that this is still available locally for around $50.

At Boston Wine & Poker, Needham, Mass.: Tasted blind. A generous offering from Michael M. Green gold. Slight sulphur. Intense pear aroma. Caramel. Intense burnt caramel flavor, with a slight acidic edge. A very tasty, balanced old-school dessert wine.

Really cool to be drinking something thats over 40 years old. Having a relatively young cellar, it's always a treat finding stuff that already has significant age on it. Imported directly from the Château. The color on this is a deep amber, very seductive. Then nose had a touch of Cork smell at first which worried me but it blew off very quickly. What was left was rich peaches and apricots, honey, and a nutty smell. On the palate: candied peaches, some hay, almonds, honey, some pineapple and a very long finish. This was delicious!

Clear golden juice showing it's age in the glass, but still clear and very little tartrate in the bottle.

Served at cellar temperature. Nose developing with air and time to warm in the glass. Closed at first, but after about an hour showed pineapple, truffle, walnuts, and a touch of paraffin.

Palate was surprisingly fresh. Truffles dominating the palate on pnp. Bright pineapple and white peach, apparent botrytis, almonds and walnuts elbowing their way into the fold as it warmed and caught it's breath. Just a touch of sherry. Very balanced and quite fresh on the finish.

10 tasters and not even a drop was left in one of the glasses. A treat!

Not enough experience to score this one, but it was perfectly suited to a 60th birthday celebration.

Quite curious. This wine is far from the other one I had last summer. Not bad, but not what I expected from the other bottle. No wood, no complexity. More like a super sweet sirup.

While oak was noticeable on its own, the rest of the flavours weren't shut out because of it. We thought it was very nice, complex, round and most importantly, not too sweet. Struck a great balance in that regard. Looking forward to the 1985.

Old wine, which, despite its age, still has a lot of spark.

Colour: Beautiful dark amber
Nose: raisins and dried fruits, blue cheese, red apple and honey
Mouth: tastes of dried fruits, but not as sweet as the sugar content would let you believe. savoury and with good acidity still. A long, almost salty finish. Medium plus intensity.

Not the most complex wine, but a nice experience. Worked very well with a cheese platter consisting of both blue cheese, soft and hard cheeses.

This can probably be stored for many years to come, but I’m not sure if it will get any better.

Edit: On day two. It still holds up, but with notably more oxidative notes in the form of fallen apples and sherry

Opened on Xmas day. The cork had dropped into the wine, but the seal from the capsule was intact. Astonishing clear golden colour, reminiscent of d'Yquem. Wonderful bouquet and magnificent flavour. Outstanding.

Clear amber in appearance, attractive nose of apricots and butterscotch; still lively on the palate, a touch under medium body with silky texture, apricots on entry and on the midpalate, and a sprightly yet filigreed acid spine. Really well balanced, and moreish, this seems evergreen.

45 år gammel søt chenin fra velkjent produsent. 12,5%, 91g sukker per liter. 20% høstes tidlig, resten høstes en måned senere delvis botrytisert. Spontangjæring og modning 8 mnd på sementtanker. Ravgul, litt diskret aroma av mineraler, botrytis, honning, korinter. Smaken er mer imponerende enn duften. Balansert, ikke veldig intens verken mht syre, sødme og konsentrasjon.
