Smells like a sauternes, feel like I'd guess white if it were blind, which is to say canned peach and apricot in syrup, balsamic vinegar, prune and plum, maple syrup, dry leaves, honeycomb, lemon, and flowers. Very complex and enjoyable nose. Full bodied and viscous, with bright, balancing acidity, and good length. This is really nice with apricot, lemon, high toned red fruits, orange, spice, and minerals. This is a treat. 👌🎄 |

On the palate, spice stands out and is just right. Red raspberry, cherry, boysenberry, black plum, and blackberry for fruit. Very slight leather. Tannins barely providing structure now. Medium mouthfeel and medium length. Paired well with spicy stew. Great QPR from LB. |

Aroma is a test, the first impact is from herbs, rather than fruit, oregano and eucalyptus, then a touch of pepper/paprika, really hard to find the fruit on the nose. In the mouth, it’s completely different. Dark plum hits the tongue, very fine tannins and a pepper finish that lasts well into the next mouthful. Great value for money wine. |

The pyrazine notes from the Cab Sauv in this Bordeaux blend meld nicely with the restrained Malbec fruit and other varietals. It's dusty, a little vegetal and earthy, a hint of dark flowers like violet, and of course some dark fruit (plums) to round it out. The primary fruit is still there, but hard to say how much longer it will hold on for in the cellar. |

3/26/2023 - nedster Likes this wine: 93 pointsI last opened a 2009 of this Cab Franc in 2019. Now, with another 4 years under its belt, this wine has emerged as mature and smooth. When I drank it a few years ago, the green pepper was strong and distinctive. Now the flavors are harmonious...enough red fruit to make this very interesting with a really long finish. I'm glad I waited for it to age. |
