While the age is minimal, I found it to be very approachable with just enough backbone to support the main dish, grilled lamb chops with a hint of garlic. For a $50 bottle, I found it to be worthwhile. |

Cherry cordial muddled cigars seethe under straightforward oak and fresh mineral Struktur. Natal syrup texture withdraws incrementally. This leaves translucent mint. Salted chocolate. It's a dry drink in spite of its drape of flesh texture. Served to good effect with 24-hour brisket garnished with minced carrot greens. |

Full, forward, & attractive nose of dark fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, spices, dried herbs, coffee/cocoa, mineral & cedar undertones. Medium-full bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, lush & rich, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, cocoa, espresso, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing although it should develop further with additional aging. An indicative blend of 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. An enjoyable & supple Bolgheri DOC with a very good QPR especially in light of many overpriced domestic reds. |

I find many cheaper Tuscan whites to be bland and forgettable; this is much more interesting. Screwcap, 13%. (Apparently there is 15% Sauvignon Blanc as well as 85% Vermentino, though that is not mentioned on the label.) |
