4/21/2024 - River Rat Likes this wine: NRDrank with friends at Underwood Bistro. Double decanted and cleaned bottle ahead of time. Popped and aired at restaurant for 90 minutes. Really developed nicely in that time black fruit, anise cedar, picked up considerable weight in the glass. Nice round texture, full bodied, fruit holding it’s own, tannins resolved. Fred gets it. Great showing. |

The second glass was best as the wine blossomed to show bright red fruits, along with some spice, minerality and herbal notes. All of this in a medium to plus bodied, acidity balanced, only a touch of tannin on the smooth finish, wine. So, open your bottle 15-20 minutes before enjoying, or give it a splash decant, and you will be pleased with the result -- now, and for at least a couple of years to come. |

Finish is impeccable with an earth and baking spice dominant note. Very fine tannin integration at this age. Tertiary notes dominate: earth. spice, slight soy/umami. |

3/30/2024 - KC Wine Enthusiast Likes this wine: 94 points14.5% ABV Enjoying the NCAA basketball tournament with a Henry family gathering for Easter. One of my favorite wines. I always look forward to my next glass of Scherrer Vineyard Cab. Especially one with at least 5 years of shelf life. Fred recently stated that the sweet spot for him was drinking a Scherrer Vineyard cab with 10-20 years of age, this wine came close. I agree with you Fred, this is in a great place right now. Nice aromatics, great mouth feel. Yum! |

3/6/2024 - River Rat Likes this wine: NRJust picked multiple vintages up from a private party sale and had extra on the ‘01s so I pobega’d it. Fill was perfect on this bottle and the capsule spun with ease. Sank my corkscrew in and slowly pulled the cork up til, snap, the last 3/8” stayed in the neck because the worm wasn’t long enough. Grabbed the Durand worm and extracted the remainder which seriously only had 1/8” of wine stain in it. At 22 years in the bottle. |
