2009 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-PapeRed Rhone Blend more |
1/31/2022 - BradFraser wrote: 90 pointsDeveloping nose of black cherry, black raspberry, herbs and dried fig. Full body, smooth tannins, nicely balance acidity. Early maturity, open for business but with lots of time left ahead. Alcohol stuck out a bit, but it was still a lovely sip. |

2016 Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du PyGamay more |
12/22/2021 - BradFraser wrote: 89 pointsDusty cherry, hint of spice on the nose. Palate has crunchy red fruit, soft integrated tannins. Lacking in complexity at this stage in it’s development. May be in a dumb phase? Drank more like a decent Villages. |

2001 La Rioja Alta Rioja Gran Reserva 904Tempranillo Blend, Tempranillo more |
3/12/2020 - BradFraser wrote: 95 pointsAt 19 years, the nose is intriguing with notes of mature dried cherry, sandalwood, tobacco leaf, old leather and an herbal edge. The palate is medium + bodied, silky smooth, with bright acidity that provides freshness and lightness to the fruit. A long clean finish. Beautiful fruit, elegant, concentration without weight. A Burgundy lover’s Rioja. No sign of tiring. This will continue at its peak for another decade or more. Purchased in New York in 2013 during our 10th anniversary trip. |

2014 Marcel Lapierre MorgonGamay more |
9/25/2015 - BradFraser Likes this wine: 91 pointsMy first taste of Lapierre Morgon. 2014's a keeper. Bright, fruity juicy gamay, hint of pepper. Delicious & will evolve. Fantastic. |

2010 Two Hands Shiraz Bella's GardenBarossa Valley more |
9/8/2015 - BradFraser wrote: 85 pointsBased on other TNs I seem to be in the minority as I found this wine to be a chore to drink. Heavy body, chewy dark fruit, a lot of heat evident, did not pair well with a rack of Ribs. Pretty nose but the overall taste was disjointed and tired my palate quickly. This may just not be my style. |

2003 Chateau MusarBekaa Valley Red Blend more |
8/8/2015 - BradFraser Likes this wine: 94 points2003 was a bad year to get married for good choices of anniversary wines but Musar brings pleasure. Distinctive and delicious. |

2010 Villa Wolf Wachenheimer Belz Riesling SpätlesePfalz more |
12/11/2014 - BradFraser Likes this wine: 86 pointsNice off dry Spätlese. Nothing too complex but good balance. My wife likes Rieslings on the dry side with lighter body and citrus notes whereas I like a bit more ripe fruit and texture. This wine seemed to work for both of us somehow. Paired nicely with pad Thai. |

2008 Bodegas LAN Rioja Edición LimitadaTempranillo more |
9/2/2014 - BradFraser wrote: 87 pointsA bit big and brawny for my taste. Maybe with time this will smooth out its rough edges but even after a couple hours of air it was just a tad over amped in every way (this wine goes to 11)! Really needs a hefty slab of meat to enjoy now. I'd give this another few years. |

2007 Quinta do Noval DouroRed Blend more |
7/27/2014 - BradFraser Likes this wine: 91 pointsLuscious, perfumed dark fruit. Still tightly wound but a big, delicious, juicy Douro. Glad I have another in the cellar. Will wait another 3 or 4 years to try the second. |

2009 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La CrauRed Rhone Blend more |
6/4/2014 - BradFraser wrote: NR2 hour decant. In a closed phase, not much showing on the nose. Palate was tight, unbalanced. Slowly started to loosen up but this is still very young, I couldn't really rate fairly. I'd hold for another few years. |

2009 Rolly Gassmann RieslingAlsace more |
6/3/2014 - BradFraser wrote: 86 pointsA nice clean, refreshing Riesling. Not a lot of complexity, but a nice balance of acidity and sweetness, medium weight, enjoyable drinking on its own. Solid tasty wine. |

4/11/2014 - BradFraser wrote: 80 pointsSmoky flavours really starting to come through. Prominent coffee notes to the point that it almost tasted like a Pinotage. Less impressed with this bottle. |

1998 Nikolaihof Riesling SteinrieslerWachau more |
1/1/2014 - BradFraser Likes this wine: 92 pointsMy second bottle of this wine. Paired with spicy Thai food for New Year's Eve celebration. Really enjoyed the wine but the nuances and complexity that I enjoyed so much from first bottle was hidden by the heat of the spicy dish. I'd allow the charms of this beauty to unfold without food or with less spicy fare. |

2004 Marqués de Cáceres Rioja Gaudium Gran VinoTempranillo Blend, Tempranillo more |
9/14/2013 - BradFraser wrote: 89 pointsEnjoyed this with mediterranean chicken marsala. Lush fruit, savoury, full bodied, good backbone, tasty, sexy wine but didn't wow me. I think I prefer classically styled Rioja. Still quite lovely but over priced. |

2004 Bodegas Vega-Sicilia Ribera del Duero Valbuena 5°Tempranillo Blend, Tempranillo more |
8/10/2013 - BradFraser wrote: 95 pointsPurchased in Madrid, brought to NYC for our 10 year anniversary dinner. Ate at Pata Negra, a lovely little Spanish tapas restaurant in the East Village. Inky dark ruby colour. Lovely nose of sweet berries, leather, dill & exotic spices. Medium bodied, silky smooth texture, soft oak, plush dark cherry and plum lingered with spices on a long finish. Perfectly balanced acidity and fine tannins. Elegance in a glass. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

7/27/2013 - BradFraser Likes this wine: 92 pointsWow serious stuff. 1 hour decant. A bit one dimensional at first but opened and evolved nicely over the evening with air. Lovely classic nose of a young cdp. Nice bright red fruit, exotic spices. Alcohol, acidity a bit noticeable without food. Long finish. Still needs time to come together. But enjoyable nonetheless. Would love to track it's evolution over next 5-15 years. |

6/8/2013 - BradFraser Likes this wine: 89 pointsPleasantly surprised by this wine. Old world character, lovely developed nose, fine balance. Not overly smokey like others suggested. Tasted mature for it's age; in a nice drinking window. Should develop further for another few years. Bought 3 more on discount. This was a great QPR for my taste. |
