No formal notes, but very primary. Shockingly so for 15 yrs old. Red and purple fruits. Medium tannins with a full body. The fruit profile was more Napa Cab-y than I expected. While the flavor was all about the fruit, there was an earthy sensibility that belied a foot planted firmly in the Old World. Very nice and this will last and last and last.

Gros vin ample et corsé.
Fruits compotés avec un peu de chauffe.
Tannique et asséchant,
pas mal similaire à la précédente.

Opened and consumed over about 4 hours. The color of this shows no signs of being 13 years old. This could have been a 2017 based on the color alone. Initially this had plenty of stone fruit, graphite, tannins and acidity. About an hour in the fruit closed up and it got very tannic. That lasted about 40 minutes then the fruit again came out and balanced out those youthful tannins. All along the finish never lost its long spiciness and complexity. I was shocked this is showing no signs of its age at this point. Based on this showing I would say this has a good 15-20 years before it reaches maturity, perhaps longer if it stays on this trajectory. I'm glad I've got a few more in the cellar.
