10/10/2020 - sgsh100 wrote: 95 pointsBright garnet colour. Black fruit and mint nose. long palate, black fruit and hint of raspberry with complex aging characteristics starting to appear (24 years). Fruit and acid suggest this wine will continue for a few more years. The cork in this wine broke apart which I think is a problem older Cullens wines suffer from. Interesting comparing this to some of Cullen's early 2000 wines which I've poured down the sink. 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

7/11/2015 - sgsh100 Likes this wine: 93 pointsDark bright cherry red colour. Cherry, vanilla, spice and herbs on the nose. Rich mouth filling cherry fruit (fruit sweet but not sugar) and long acid on the palate. Herbs also come through on the palate. Long soft tannins. Alcohol is high (14.7% according to the bottle) which gives a viscous mouth feel (but not hot). Drinks very now but will cellar well as it has a good balance of fruit, acid and tannin to stand up against the Al. I've become a fan of Tassie PNs. This is a v good wine, a masculine PN and not for the faint of heart. |
