4/5/2024 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR13%. Limpid dark red core, purple rim. Double decanted. More swirling in glass brings out lifted mulberry, plum, roasted green pepper, mint, thyme, ripe tamarind, pencil lead. Firmly structured: lemony tart red cherry acidity over slightly softened tannins. 15+ sec finish. Perfect lunch claret. |

4/3/2024 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR13% medium paleish red core, some orange on the rim. Sweetish on the nose, faint soy sauce that seems to blow off. Faint sherry like notes, but otherwise good strawberry and red cherry on the nose and tongue. Lifted fruit with more swirling. Tannins fully integrated but acidity keeps this fresh tasting. Drinking well. Very nice. Stored temperature controlled since purchase in 2006 from Galeries Lafayette (cost only €55 back then). |

3/19/2024 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR9% screw cap pale straw yellow; whiffs of petrol on the nose, lemon and grapefruit. Acidity carries the residual sweetness. Medium short finish. Tastes dry, even though alcohol would otherwise suggest off-dry. Very nice. |

3/19/2024 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR14.5% dark red core, juicy acidity, dark berries, slight tobacco. A better bottle than my last one, less advanced, hardly any tertiary notes. Grippy. |

2021 Symbiose Laurentino D.S. Corbières SymbioseGrenache Blend, Grenache more |
3/18/2024 - Nico P. wrote: NR13.5% bio. Ruby rim, dark almost black core. Nicely fragrant, sweet smelling and fruity. Juicy on the palate, with balanced acidity and subdued tannins. Judging from the grip, this bottle could probably still be ok for another 5 years, or 10 at the upper end. |

3/7/2024 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR12% bio. Pale almost translucent gold. Green apple and a bit of peach on the nose, some herbs maybe fennel; medium weight; touch of bitter and sweet on the finish. Very nice. |

2003 Massolino BaroloNebbiolo more |
2/6/2024 - Nico P. wrote: NR14%. Good color, medium red. Took 2 or 3 splash decantings for the fruit to appear, what little there was. Quite tertiary - mushrooms, muted cigar box / stale coffee / cocoa. For a barolo this seems prematurely aged. Purchased 2009 from Wine Library kept temperature controlled since. Maybe a consequence of the vintage and the style at the time. The winery might still have been in its modernist phase during this vintage; however from what I recall beginning the past decade or so they’ve dialed back on barriques and new wood. This vintage, this bottle: not a fan. |

2/23/2024 - Nico P. wrote: NR14.5%, screwcap. Still fresh tasting. Fragrant. Nice food friendly tartness, with no discernible Aussie ascorbic acid aftertaste. Carries its high alcohol well. PnP, continued to evolve over the evening. Have one more bottle - should revisit in a year or five. |

2018 Bodegas Murviedro Bobal Colección Edición Limitada ReservaUtiel-Requena more |
1/28/2024 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR13.5% red fruits, red currants, red plums, sweetness in mid palate, herbal and bell pepper note in finish, reminiscent of Chilean carmenere, smooth but not flabby. |

1/16/2024 - Nico P. wrote: NR13% Organic. Nice limpid pink. Complex nose - for the fruits on the nose you can refer to Forceberry’s 2016 note. At this time the wine is still quite vibrant, with a nicely balanced structure - the tannins are fully resolved with the acidity adding freshness. Finish a bit short. This has held up quite well. Purchased 2015 and kept temperature controlled since then. |

1/12/2024 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR13%. 2018 Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri. Stored temperature controlled since purchase in 2019. Medium light limpid red. Muted red cherry, tannins still noticeable but not obtrusive, in balance with acidity. Classic Chianti profile - food friendly, linear, medium length finish. Stay away from this wine if you’re used to Napa cabs. For me this is good stuff, based on this bottle can easily go for another 5 years in its primary / fruit phase. |

2011 R. López de Heredia Rioja Reserva Viña BosconiaTempranillo Blend, Tempranillo more |
11/20/2023 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR13.5%. Smell of rubber eraser (reduction?) that blows off. Has red fruit notes underneath old cigar top note (something I associate with red wines with a few years of age). Then melds together for red fruit / plum smell. Moderately grippy and pronounced tartness in the mouth, seamless moderately long finish. This really shines as a wine to accompany food. |

2010 Château Bel Air-Marquis d'AligreMargaux Red Bordeaux Blend more |
11/2/2023 - Nico P. Likes this wine: NR12.5% medium red garnet rim. Sweet smelling berry red fruit, maybe strawberry. some blueberry. Linear, lithe. Less than medium weight. The opposite of jammy or syrupy. Acidity and tannins in balance. If you’re not fond of food friendly wines you might think the structure overpowers the fruit. But if you like non international styled Italian wines you will like this. However the nose more than compensates for lighter mouth feel. |

12/17/2023 - Nico P. wrote: NR13.5% medium dark red core orange rim. Dark Pinot fruits with a faint herbal top note and toasted bread / oaky bottom note. Good tartness but powdery tannins and acid not fully melded. Short finish. Okay but have tasted better. |

2010 Chanson Père & Fils Clos VougeotClos Vougeot Grand Cru Pinot Noir more |
10/21/2023 - Nico P. Does not like this wine: NR13.5% medium dark red, no fading. Dark cherry blueberries that fade fast, to expose woody tobacco and caramel notes. Tannins mosty resolved. With air time becomes raisiny. Some leftover stored in filled air tight bottle in wine ref - upon second tasting consigned to cooking wine jar. |

2021 Château Les AubiersBlaye Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend more |
11/18/2023 - Nico P. wrote: NRWas interested in trying this wine from a “classic” vintage. Last sampled the 2018 vintage. Bio. 12.5% Dark red core. Faint matchstick / reduction. Darkly fruited, plummy. Dark chocolate bitterness. Silky tannins, food friendly tartness. Short finish, mid palate hole. When the reduction blows off some nice red fruit / strawberry / raspberry appears on the nose. Obviously, not as full bodied as the 2018, but all in all a decent food friendly value priced organic wine. |
