This needed at least 30 minutes after opening. Then it showed typical Italian sour cherry on the nose and palate. Also on the palate some nice saline/minerality with the dark sour cherry. Oak is noticable but not overbearing. Good (medium) body. I really like it. (549 views)

Nose: candied black cherry.
Taste: Black fruit upon opening, then red fruit (crushed strawberries), bitter black currant on a long, dry finish; very good balance of tannin and fruit.
Overall: one of the best Argentine reds I've tasted. Wish I would've bought more. Probably would pair ideally with pepper crusted steak. (470 views)

Popped and poured 15 min ago. Fruit was muted immediately but is starting to show itself. Nose of mineral-fruit now. No noticable oak on the nose or palate.

This is a massive (way bigger than Cab Sauv) wine that starts with blackness: currant, charcoal and underbrush with zero oak; then between 1-2 hours some oak shows itslef but it is still brambly and black as ever but is just more full/round on the palate. I had with a T-bone and couldn't imagine drinking this alone. Best Syrah of the year of 2009 for me so far. Could certainly spend more time in the cellar. Would recommend. (496 views)

balanced and decent length of finish. but lighter bodied than I expected from an old vines mataro (mouvedra/monastrell).

Flavor: steely, mineral/saline, little red fruit--more dry than sweet. But light bodied (no weight or viscosity), and although I wouldn't describe it as unbalanced it could be better balanced.
