clear gold in the glass, nose on ripe exotic fruits (guava, melon, grapefruit).
On the palate, the ripeness of the fruit overwhelms the saline touch of santorini's assyrtiko character. there is good supporting acidity though
Very NZ sauvignon blanc in style, not what I am looking for in a Santorini Assyrtiko - but some people may like it.

Dark red, purple rim. Closer to syrah than gamay.
on the nose, a whiff of feral/barnyard/animal scent, but mostly red juicy fruits, blackberry, hint of spices.
the tannins are fine, the acidity well balanced. at 12.5% ABV, this is very easy drinking, yet retains some finesse and structure.
good finish.
Next bottle in 2 to 3 years time.

dark red, with purple rim - very syrah-esque
on the nose, some barnyard, red fruits, blueberry and spices.
The tannins are still grainy but fine, the juice is pure and finish is medium. supporting acidity. Next bottle in 2 to 3 years

This bottle was in a better shape than the previous one.
Amber colour, nose on lemon curd, marmalade, honey. Acidity keeps the sweetness in check, good refreshing finish.

deep gold starting to amber, nose on marmalade, honeyed ginger, yellow plum.
on the palate, what strikes is the freshness and youth! more candied yellow fruit and incredible sweetness / acidity balance.. it is light on its feet, long finish.

dark purple ink, nose and palate marked by oak - vanilla, spices, plum.
Tannins are still massive, this will need more time - even on Day+1, tannins are still drying in the finish.

Crimson robe, nose initially closed, but that opened up on the second day with red and black fruit, whiff of violet. Medium body, good acidity, it will require some more time to get that extra complexity.

very light red colour, the nose oozes of dried mediterranean herbs, and red fruits. This is light body, with good mid palate complexity reflecting the nose flavours, and soft tannins. Very much to my taste! Drink up

dark crimson red, nose on tangy red fruits (cranberry, sour cherry), then plum, menthol, thyme, liquorice.
the tannins are fine grained, the wine is is layered with freshness and acidity undercutting any heaviness. Long finish

starting to go through my refill batch of 2 cases (the first batch of 18 bottles has been drunk far too quickly over 2019-2020).
Still delicious, with violets and raspberries/fresh black berries. Good acidity, silken tannins and good finish.
A treat, while I wait for the 2016s to come of age.

crimson robe. The nose is a bit tight, on red berries.
tannins are integrated, the wine needs a bit of time to open up, and mostly displays red fruit on the palate and some oak spice, good acidity.

to revisit in 2-3 years. drank alongside a 2014 which was way better.

crimson robe, nose on violets, fresh berries.
This shows beautifully, with integrated tannins, depth of fruit - strawberry, a hint of fresh blackberry -, oak spiciness that increases complexity and allows a good finish.
Definitely punches above its weight, very satisfying.
can't see how it can improve.. drink up

drank alongside the 2016 - which is tight and needs more time - the 2014 was way better

Dark crimson, very fragrant nose on violet, fresh blueberry, olives, meaty notes.
Precise attack, tannins are integrated, juicy black fruits, olive tapenade, integrated oak and black fruits swirl in the palate.
Good acidity backbone keeps it fresh, no heaviness, and good finish.
Need to explore more Ogier wines!
