A bit shy on the nose initially, but opens up (dark berries) with time in the glass. Rich palate, good density. Dark fruited, Vosne spice, excellent acidic balance. Medium+ finish. Outperforms its level. No rush to drink, should easily maintain its current properties for at least another 5 years. |

On the palate it’s on the rustic side; a bit clunky for a Volnay. Mushrooms, cedary notes, white pepper complemented the fruits. It’s a good wine, but frankly I expected more. Fully mature, I don’t see any upside in further cellaring. |
