I am not a fan of the high alcohol (a common issue with Martinelli Wines) but the flavors are very nice. Just have to drink a bit less. |

On the nose: Cassis, plum, cinnamon, pepper, tar , beef blood and espresso. On the palate: Plum, violets, some kirsch, cassis, cinnamon, pepper, tar, olive, beef blood, espresso and dark chocolate. Still insanely delicious. All taste is personal and I continue to love this wine. I will wait another several years to try again. This is built for the long run. |

This is really good. |

Classic and elegant Pinot Noir. |

On the palate: Apple, lemon, butter and butterscotch, oak spices. Good length and mouthfeel. A bit reductive. I like this wine. I have 2 half bottles left. I will wait a year before trying again. This is showing is age nicely giving those tertiary flavors. This is a wine for adults. |

On the palate: Cherry, plum, dried red fruits, baking spices and dark chocolate. This is very good and very easy to drink. High alcohol but it’s what you get in this style. No alcohol heat on the palate but you see it in the legs and I am sure I will feel it. That being said this is worth trying. |

Also a bit high on the alcohol but that does not come through at all. A lot of people will love this wine. |

On the palate: Raspberry, Violets, cassis, pepper, cinnamon, espresso, charcuterie, smoke and some plum. This is a serious wine. Very broad and generous flavors but refined and elegant. World class. I will go back next weekend to the wine store and may see if I can buy every bottle. A great one to lay down and drink over the next 10 years. Guigal really makes great wines. |
