2004 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les CrasPinot Noir more |
11/3/2022 - Cohowino Likes this wine: 93 pointsA pristine bottle from Thatcher Wines. This is such pure, elegant, energetic, floral, sappy pinot noir. Classic Chambolle. Definitely showing prominent sap / pine tar, but not at all off-putting or over-bearing. It is for sure not too 2004. If someone handed you a glass and told you it was ‘07 or ‘10, most Burg lovers would love it. Great stuff, especially for the vintage. |

10/24/2021 - Cohowino Likes this wine: 91 pointsMy initial experience with the ‘10 Corton Charlie was exactly as DRDAN8 describes, but I corked it and left in the fridge and the next evening it was a very different wine. A grey-ish pale yellow color the first evening turned to bright gold, and a limpid nose and palate the first evening came alive with energy, verve, minerality, fruit and orchid flowers the following evening. Interesting. |

8/30/2021 - Cohowino Likes this wine: NRJJCT, I think, is spot on and it explains some of the other reactions. I love G-B but this one is a monster of a wine, especially for Chambolle. Dark, brooding earthy and very structured and astringent. Almost Piemontese in character. Needs another 10-20 years and hopefully the fruit will hang around. My bet is yes, but this is too young to drink now, in any event. 2030+ |

2009 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les SuchotsPinot Noir more |
3/7/2021 - Cohowino Likes this wine: 92 pointsQuite reductive and extracted, framed by noticeable oak. Medicinal black cherry, camphor and animale. Prominwnt tannins. The underlying material seems formidable and pedigreed, but only time will tell. There is also a fair amount of sediment. |

2015 Domaine A.-F. Gros Vosne-Romanée Clos de la FontainePinot Noir more |
3/7/2021 - Cohowino Likes this wine: 91 pointsVery enjoyable, especially for a village wine. Minty, spice-infused red and dark fruit and cola on the nose, with a smooth, medium long palate, that is still integrating the tannins. Not especially extarordinary, but a fun wine and a good food wine. |

10/10/2020 - Cohowino Likes this wine: 91 pointsVery enjoyable, albeit fairly evolved. Very nice ethereal, acidic minerality, combined with stewed red fruit and just a little bit of tomato/bloody mary, beef broth savoriness. A little surprising, but quite enjoyable. Would drink, rather than hold. |
