Performed very well - nice cedary notes with tannin in check. Paired beautifully with the beef tongue. Its personality is a little shy and I expect there is more to come. Still in a good place and a beautiful drink, glad I have a couple more to see how this develops. |

10/6/2016 - lumpyelbow wrote: NR30 minutes in - serious wine. Appearance is garnet and dense with hints of its age showing at the edges. The nose suggests a solidly oaked wine with still a generous degree of freshness. The palate confirms this, flavours are a bit monolithic but delicious. Oak is integrating well and, surprisingly, red fruits are more prevalent than the black. Tannin seems to be held in check by the acid. Balanced well. Definitely worth trying at this stage if you have a few. Tiniest bitterness at the very end keeps this at a 93 today. Will improve. |
