Nose of black fruit, scorched earth and charred oak. In the mouth - beautiful purity and freshness. Fine tannin still very alive. Needs a 4 hour decant - very nice.

Reviews are all over the place on this, had me worried. Brought to restaurant and was decanted for an hour or so before drinking. Performed very well - nice cedary notes with tannin in check. Paired beautifully with the beef tongue. Its personality is a little shy and I expect there is more to come. Still in a good place and a beautiful drink, glad I have a couple more to see how this develops.

Cabernet rubber on the nose with black fruit. Tannins have melted away leaving a subtle laid back wine. Seems a little sleepy (I've been saying that a lot lately) but showing well and easily recognized as good quality Bdx with a little age. Glad I have more

Good but a bit mono with a ripe fruit envelope obscuring expected cabernet structure. Tannin a bit more pronounced on Day 2. Still pretty good. No idea how this will age. 89-90.

Excellent. Likely will not improve much more but no rush. Intriguing nose, soft tannin, enough acid to make it a good choice for food but I'm sipping now solo and it is delicious. Beautifully crafted.

30 minutes in - serious wine. Appearance is garnet and dense with hints of its age showing at the edges. The nose suggests a solidly oaked wine with still a generous degree of freshness. The palate confirms this, flavours are a bit monolithic but delicious. Oak is integrating well and, surprisingly, red fruits are more prevalent than the black. Tannin seems to be held in check by the acid. Balanced well. Definitely worth trying at this stage if you have a few. Tiniest bitterness at the very end keeps this at a 93 today. Will improve.

Enjoyed this. Still pretty primary but that just means the sexy, dense fruit of '09 shines through. Oak is starting to integrate but barely. Many would would want to wait, as do I, but I also admit that I love '09 in this phase. Yum.

Poured a small glass and bottle aerated for a couple of hours. In a nice place and showing some maturity. For me, a distinctive nose of salinity and ocean air. The palate, however, was a bit thin. Overall an enjoyable wine from one of my favourite producers. 89-90
