This vintage of Colonnello is past its peak, but still showing such a classic profile of a great Barolo. The aroma alone is fabulous. The fruit has faded a notch but this is still a great wine. For a little longer. No point in waiting though, as with many 85s. |

Very interesting how the grape and the quality of the winemaking are what define it after this many years. But tannin and fruit are both faded a bit, finish a bit short, with a lovely nose to compensate. |
