While I did enjoy it, I was just a bit underwhelmed perhaps due to expectation. Maybe in a few years it further integrates and develops complexity. Maybe a 90 if scoring. |

For a CA Chard, more on the lean/austere side (noting 13% ABV) but not mouth puckeringly so, and it had layers of fruits (with a touch of oak) that interwove nicely. I listened to a podcast w the winemaker and he said he actually likes the estate chard since it gives the ability to blend different components with total greater than the parts (or something along those lines). On day 2 i had it from the fridge and it was too cold, much preferred day 1 around 60 degrees |
