Day 1: Another stellar bottle. See other 3 notes but will right one anyway. Menthol, dark fruits, chocolate, spice and mild oak. Nice concentration and medium plus finish. 93 points
Day 3: Another great day 3 bottle with menthol, mild funk, plum, blueberries, dark chocolate and spices. A touch of oak on the finish. Super complex wine and one would be fooled into thinking this is a $200 Napa Wine blind. 94 points
Recommendation: Buy for under $50 if you can find it via auction.

Day 1: This is the best $25 other than result of a crush. Bought via auction and could have had two cases instead of one. Funk, gravel, plum, tobacco, menthol, cherry and earth. Right banker in disguise. 94 points
Day 2: Holding form nicely. This is the best bottle of the case so far and gives great promise this wine will drink well through 2030. Menthol, funk, tobacco, sour cherry, stone, earth and smoke. Big style wine but so good. 94 points
Day 3: Over 10 years old and holding form. Wow purchase from my friends at Chicago Wine Company. Win for sure.
Recommendation: Should have bought all 3 cases instead of one.

Tom & Bruna's Wine Tasting (Edina, MN): So the hosts liked this better than us other 3 but I like both for different reasons. This is a bigger style but some modern Bordeaux character. Tobacco, oak, funk, cherry, blue fruits, spice and earth. Long finish and concentrated. Again outstanding.

Day 1: Thank you cellar tracker as I would have not made this amazing purchase via auction without some data. This is an amazing wine and paid less than $25 a bottle. Mild oak, funk, blueberries, menthol, coffee beans, dark cherry and dust. Super complex wine and amazing what a great Merlot experience can be like from Napa. As good as almost every Cab at a recent $60 plus event. 93+ points
Day 2: Wow! This tastes like a $200 Cabernet not a $50 Merlot which it is about the retail. Oak, dark cherries, spices, coffee beans, menthol, dust, tobacco and earth. Super concentrated effort and off the charts on the value. 94 points
Day 3: Still has some nice characteristics but pales in comparison of day 1/2. 89 points
Recommendation: This will drink well through 2028 for sure.

The best of the 4 La Forge wines tasted but that is saying nothing. Red currants, mild spice and some earth. Short to medium finish.

Day 1: Solid overall. Had my wife who does not drink much wine taste this which is half the price as a 2020 Smoke Taint wine and she liked this a lot better. Cherry, spice, floral, minerals and earth. Very smooth wine and balanced. Excellent value under $30. 92 points

$100 Plus Tasting Year 2 (Minneapolis, MN): Welll wine of the year for WS not sure I get it but not a bad wine. Too much oak for my liking. Oak, plum, dark chocolate and spices. Maybe in 5 years it will develop more but not a wow wine.

Day 1: Oak, blueberries, smoke, cherry, spice and dust. This wine is young and needs a few days to flesh out. 89 points
Day 2: Much better which is no surprise with the 3 day approach. Cherry, blueberries, spices, dust, floral, wood and minerals. Very nice improvement and this will continue to improve over the next five to eight years. 92 points
Day 3: Not going anywhere as these have plenty of life for a long time. Solid on day 2 and 3. Vinturi on day 3. Blueberries, spice, cherry, wood, menthol, floral and minerals. This has a medium plus finish. 92 points
Recommendation: Drink from 2025 to 2032.

Day 2: Open for business. Dark cherry, plum, saddle leather, mild oak, spice, floral notes, chocolate and minerals. Complex offering and mighty tasty for $41. 92 points
Day 3: Further improvement with baking chocolate, dust, minerals, plum, blueberries, menthol, mild oak and spice. Super complex wine. 92+ points
Recommendation: Excellent value and while not Barnett Spring Mountain this is solid.

This is terrible corporate wine. The stuff coming out of California now a days is embarrassing. Muted fruit and some oak chips. One of the worst Merlot's I have tasted in years but it probably sells 100,000 cases or more.

Day 1: Another solid showing featuring cherry, earth, chocolate, mild spice and blueberries. Nice wine overall. Medium finish. Would drink these now until 2025. 90 points
Day 2: Big drop in quality on day 2. Oak and heat are present. Chocolate, spice and fruit. Medium finish but not satisfying at all. One of the worst day 2 experiences of the year. 80 points
Day 2.5: Went back and used the Vinturi. This is always a good move with wines with some alcohol showing as once again improved the wine greatly. Plum, dark chocolate, spice, raspberries, floral and damp earth. Very complex wine and again why you never give up on a wine. 91 points

Day 1.5: This is even better and features blueberries, cherry, plum, spice, rose petals, menthol, milk chocolate and graphite. Maybe the best Napa wine I have tasted in a few years under $30. 92 points
Day 2: One of the better values and day 2 this is still excellent. Little Right Bank happening with earth, gravel, floral, funk, cherry and tobacco. Getting more next week! 92+ points
Day 3: Not as good as day 2 or 1. A bit tired and lacks the intensity of day 1/2.

Day 1: Medium purple hue. Up front this needs a decant as the oak was heavy. Now very integrated. Cherry, earth, spice, rose petals, plum and menthol. This is a very well-made wine and even better is the price at $16.99. 92 points
Day 2: Not as intense as day 1 and showing less fruit but still tasty. Menthol, earth, cherry, wood and baking chocolate. Medium finish. 90 points
Recommendation: Drink on day 1 and decant for 30 minutes. Drink these over the next couple of years.
